Julia | 432 comments MaryJean,
7. I'm STUCK! Does anyone have a suggestion?

It depends what you like... I renamed this category 'fantasy that isn't urban,' meaning it's fantasy in a historical setting. A series I love in this sub-genre is His Majesty's Dragon. You could also read historical fiction. I read and loved Revolution earlier this year, which isn't as straight-up historical fiction as Chains and Forge are. Look at what we who have decided on what to read are reading and see if any of those books interest you.
Happy Reading!

MaryJean | 2 comments Thanks Rebecca, Tatiana and Julia :)

I went from zero ideas to 5 new books on my to-read list haha.. I can already tell that starting this challenge was a good idea; I normally wouldn't read historical fiction but the books you guys recommended all look interesting! I'm leaning toward The Morning Gift by Eva Ibbotson for this challenge, hopefully I can find it at my library. If I can't find that, What I Saw And How I Lied is going to be my second choice..

Thanks again for all the awesome suggestions, they were such a big help!

message 72: by Lori (new)

Lori (tyme2read) I am having some difficulties. My kobo broke :( And most of the books I planned on reading were on it. I will do my best to read them off the calibre program but I can't read as much at a time because of the back lighting. I WILL continue though.

And just a word about about kobo, They have AWESOME customer service!! my husband called them the day my screen went wonky and they automatically said they would send a prepaid box to us and we just have to stick the kobo in it and send it back. They said it would be 5-7 days for the box to arrive and I had it 2. Unfortunately I wasn't home so I now have to go pick it up at the office. If anything I am even happier with my kobo now. (or at least will be when I get it back)

NBA YPL 1) Lockdown 6/21/11 4 1/2 stars
I recommend this for any here who are still looking for a book with racial/ ethnic minority teen as main character.
new release 2) Kitty's Big Trouble 7/8/11 3 1/2 stars
Set in summer 3)Spellcast* 7/22/11 5 stars Exactly what I needed to read!

YALSA 5) Huntress 6/20/11 3 1/2 stars
A British writer 6) Annexed 7/12/11 3 stars I didn't finish it, I read just less than a third of it, but I read enough to know I wasn't in the mood for it and that I should pick it up again, because it is an interetsting novel.
Non- urban Fantasy 7)The Native Star*
A book with a racial/ethnic minority teen as a main character 8)Imaro*- 6/24/11 2 stars I didn't love this epic fantasy set in an alternative Africa as much as I was hoping to... But I have #3 in the series, if I can get #2 I'll read it.
From my TBR shelf 9)The Golden Compass*
Anthology 10)Welcome to Bordertown* 6/9/11 5 stars; Reread several of the stories aloud to my husband & sister on a driving vacation this week. They are as good a second time around.
