Prostitute comes back from the dead [s]

It's a short story I read back in 1995 or 1996.

I do not recall the author, any of the other short stories in the book or really much about this story.

All I can remember is that there's a prostitute who is dead and comes back to be with the pimp that murdered her because she was cursed by her grandmother (maybe mother) to continuously follow that which harms her.
