Reading the Harry Pottor series. I know I'm late, but I'm pleasantly surprised at how much I'm enjoying this series.

Save yourself the time, check out her other books if you have not already.

I will, I still have some others in my stacks.
Reading The Man with Two Left Feet by P.G. Wodehouse very cute and nice short stories - make me smile
I just finished The Language of Bees- the Russell/Holmes series never disappoints. Now I'm trying to talk myself into starting Fall of Giants. It's just so darn big!!!
I just finished
, another disappointing book. It didn't have the tranquility and charm of her other novels:(I am about to begin

Molly wrote: "Reading the Harry Pottor series. I know I'm late, but I'm pleasantly surprised at how much I'm enjoying this series."I finally finished the series this year so don't feel bad. I think there may have been a lot of us who read it as slowly as possible.
I'm reading Lie Down in Green Pastures, the third book in this cozy mystery series which I am enjoying. I'm almost finished with Angels and Demons which I've read was not as good as the other two in the series but I'm enjoying it. My third book is A Hope Undaunted which (sigh) is the first in a series. I'm trying to finish all these series I've started and then I go and start another one!
I'm reading
. I've been working and haven't been able to get into it much yet but hope to change that starting tomorrow.
I finished The Virgin's Lover by Gregory
and started The Bone Setters DaughterThe Bonesetter's Daughter Okay, why'd I get #s instead of pictures?
I finished Angels and Demons and took away a star because of the end. Now I'm reading Beggarman, Thief.
I just read BAD WOLF by Tim McGregor and liked it ok. Now am reading SINCE TOMORROW by Morgan Nyberg.
I just finished
, it was very good! I love how the author goes in depth about the characters.I am about to begin
, I am fan of her book- The Cure to Modern life.
Just finished Miss Smilla's Feeling for Snow which definately needs another read and Fifty Shades Darker which is a trilogy i am thoroughly addicted to. Back on to the Thrones series with A Storm of Swords: Blood and Gold.
Finished three more and closing in on a fourth. What Was She Thinking?: Notes on a Scandal
, which I liked but I liked the movie too so I expected to like this.Oddly, the other three are all set in the 1920s. It's unusual for me to group books in time like that. And I was afraid it would get confusing but actually it just kind of enriched the experience.
Murder Your Darlings
which is another in the Dorothy Parker/Algonquin Round Table series. Love the stories but about three times I was thrown off by anachronisms. He needs to watch that. Bright Young Things
-- I enjoyed her "Luxe" series and I liked this well enough to bump the sequel ahead of its place on my list. Requiem for a Mezzo
which is third in the Daisy Dalrymple mystery series. These are well-crafted with well-fleshed out characters. They aren't un-put-down-able, but they are very good.
I am currently reading fifty shades of gray and I'm 85% of the way through (in kindle speak.) After the shock factor wore off (I genuinely did not have a clue about the S&M culture surrounding it) I found myself irritated by the poor writing and tedious repetitive language and scenes. I don't think I would recommend it to anyone although the topic area is very risque for a number one kindle best seller.

LOL
I think the only reason it is so popular is because everyone keeps buying it and it goes up the charts. It would be a lot better if it was shorter. But the more the author intrigues you with the plot the more they irritate you with the constant repetition. I'm going to read till the end as it's not my style to not finish a book, I'll let you know if it improves, and if I plan to read the rest of the trilogy. Rach
Finished a couple of easier reading YA books, Cinder by Marissa Meyer and Virals by Kathy Reichs. I will move on to finish Ulysses, but probably next week when graduation is over. Saturday is the big day and I can't wait!

Its not a book I would normally read but I am so glad I have.
I finished Escape by Barbara Delinski. She's someone who I like or think is totally blah. This one I liked. In looking up a list of her books,I noticed she wrote for Harlequin. Excuse my snobbery, but that explains alot to me. Yeah, I know Nora Roberts wrote for Harlequin too. But I have the same either/or reaction to Roberts novels too. Funny, the Roberts. novels I like best deal with magic or the paranormal.I guess I can "suspend disbelief " on the really outrageous fantasy stuff but not the supposedly more realistic romance.
I've finished reading Gone With the Wind by Margaret Mitchell last night and I absolutely loved it! Today I've started A Stolen Life by Jaycee Dugard.
I've just finished listening to Artemis Fowl: The Lost Colony with my son and we've begun the next in the series, The Time Paradox. As for actually *reading*, I'm in the middle of Jasper Fforde's The Eyre Affair, and I'm nearly finished with Erik Larson's Devil in the White City.
Ellie wrote: "I've finished reading Gone With the Wind by Margaret Mitchell last night and I absolutely loved it! Today I've started A Stolen Life by Jaycee Dugard."I found the book to be an emotional read such as frustration, anger, disbelief, etc.
Gary, I am looking forward to reading your review of "The Drop," especially as I have only recently gotten into Michael Connelly. Don't know Colin Harrison?!100 Vegetables... Trying to garden & LOVE the amazing historical information brought to light by this wonderful author!

They were boring, slow, and so not true; even they supposed to be about real people and real life situations. One book about grandmother who was in past Russian ballerina makes me laugh because even wrong not existing Russian names were used and so on... But I never heard about Nora Roberts "magic realism” novels. Can you give me titles, please; maybe I will try them to change my negative attitude about this writer
Sure, glad to reccommend the ones I like... Hope you will too.. They're all trilogies...Jewels of the Sun
Tears of the Moon - all these have an Irish flaver
Heart of the Sea
Key of Light - little witchcraft
Key of Valor
Key of Knowledge
Blood Brothers
The Hollow - a little Stephen King ish
Pagan Stone
Dance on Air
Heavan and Earth - probably the most fun
Face the Fire
I liked the 1st set best though, although its' romance-y. Let me know what you think.
