What are you reading?
I'm about to finish Reunion by Karen Kingsbury and will be starting something new from my shelf this weekend. I always love to pick out a new book from my shelf.
I love reading old plays for a number of reasons. One reason is that they usually publish the original cast, often with a photograph or two, and I often discover actors whom I know as big stars either in early roles when they were virtually unknown (in one play I'm reading now, Edward G. Robinson is billed near the end as "an unidentified man") or, later in their careers, they've returned to the stage for fun, for a break, because they loved the live theatre, to do a play they believed in or to have an opportunity to work with a director, cast, or playwright they liked. The second play I'm reading, A Gift of Time: A Play in Two Acts, is written by Garson Kanin, who co-wrote the script for the Tracy/Hepburn movie "Adam's Rib" with his wife, the actress Ruth Gordon. When I open the cover, there looking up at me from a photograph are Henry Fonda and Olivia de Havilland! (Believe it or not, O de H is still alive, in her 90s...)
I just finished THEN CAME YOU by Jennifer Weiner and loved it! Now am reading SMOKIN' SEVENTEEN by Janet Evanivich.
Right now, I'm reading Heart-Shaped Box by Joe Hill and The Gunslinger by Stephen King, both of which are awesome.
just finished A Game of Thrones and started A Clash of Kings so glad I decided to give this series a go. It is so addictive. Also re-reading Wuthering Heights on my Kindle.
Gitte wrote: "I'm reading Dangerous Liaisons by Pierre Choderlos de Laclos - very good so far!"I read this, Love Letters and Two Other Plays: The Golden Age, What I Did Last Summer and Evelina around the same time and developed a love for epistolary novels because of them. One reason I'm loving The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society so much. Do you like epistolary novels in general?
I've got three books going right now. The Ghostway, 44 Scotland Street and Yellow Medicine. I can read three at once but they have to be quite different. The Ghostway is a mystery without alot of violence but Yellow Medicine is quite violent.

I finished SMOKIN' SEVENTEEN by Janet Evanovitch and thought it was so funny. Now I have started DEFENDING JACOB by William Landay.
I finished Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children last night, and thought it was just okay. It really had potential, but didn't get there. Today I'm starting The Sisters Brothers.

I was really exited when I started, but then after reading I also thought it's okay, but I tought it fits more for kid's reading and now my 9y reading that book (she is now in creepy books, like Cirque de freaks)
Couldn't continue with Yellow Medicine but not because it wasn't a good read but because it was too violent for me. So, instead I added Three Ways to Die, which are three short stories, to my reading.

Hey guys. Been awhile since I've posted what I'm reading. Are you curious?
I started two short story collections. One is in audioformat - How They Were Found by Matt Bell - and the other is in print - Three Ways of the Saw by Matt Mullins.
The good part - they are both well written and tell unique and strange stories.
The bad part - I have to be careful not to confuse which story belongs to which book when I review them!!!!

Before I Fall by Lauren Oliverit's been a LONG time since I've posted anything!
this book though, i can see me really liking it but then getting disappointed at the end. i know there's going to be major character development, but the ending is what's going to kill it for me.
oh well. i'll keep reading it though.
I just finished The Secret Between Us, highly disapppoineted, weak characters and terrible ending!I am about to begin
, I enjoyed "The Book of Joe" by the same author, so hopefully this does not disappoint.
Just started Silents Kills by C. E. Lawerence. I'm about 1/4 the way through and am enjoying the book.

Yuliya- Yes, exactly! I think you're right about it being more of a kid's read: I hope your daughter enjoys it. :)
Finished Three Ways to Die which was a super fast good read and started Big Easy which has already got me very interested.
I am currently reading Wildlife Warrior: Steve Irwin: 1962 - 2006, a Man Who Changed the World. I am enjoying this book.
Just finished (both take each two days of listening during other activities) If Jack's in Love by Stephen Wetta and it was very good (modern Romeo and Juliett) and The Secret in Their Eyesby Eduardo Sacheri which was a little bit slow and melancholic but not bad at all tooRigh now I'm on The Shack - by William Paul Young - have not yet any idea that is about, hope it's not relegious reading
Guys, I just started the Iambik Audio book for All My Friends Are Superheroes and it's definitely a winner! Love it so far!
