i can admit that i've read more then one book just for the cover lol!!!!
i just started on The Walking Dead comic books (i can call them comics b/c i can). and im still reading Crime and Punishment getting there almost finished!!!!
I watched the movie of Joy Luck Club and loved it, will have to read that soon. I am finishing up "I Can do Better All By Myself" by E.N. Joy! Then move to Octavia Butler, 3 books: Parable of the Sower first.
I finished SMOKIN' SEVENTEEN by Janet Evanovitch and thought it was so funny. Now I have started DEFENDING JACOB by William Landay.
I finished Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children last night, and thought it was just okay. It really had potential, but didn't get there. Today I'm starting The Sisters Brothers.
Allison wrote: "I finished Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children last night, and thought it was just okay. I was really exited when I started, but then after reading I also thought it's okay, but I tought it fits more for kid's reading and now my 9y reading that book (she is now in creepy books, like Cirque de freaks)
Couldn't continue with Yellow Medicine but not because it wasn't a good read but because it was too violent for me. So, instead I added Three Ways to Die, which are three short stories, to my reading.

Hey guys. Been awhile since I've posted what I'm reading. Are you curious?
I started two short story collections. One is in audioformat - How They Were Found by Matt Bell - and the other is in print - Three Ways of the Saw by Matt Mullins.
The good part - they are both well written and tell unique and strange stories.
The bad part - I have to be careful not to confuse which story belongs to which book when I review them!!!!

Before I Fall by Lauren Oliverit's been a LONG time since I've posted anything!
this book though, i can see me really liking it but then getting disappointed at the end. i know there's going to be major character development, but the ending is what's going to kill it for me.
oh well. i'll keep reading it though.
I just finished The Secret Between Us, highly disapppoineted, weak characters and terrible ending!I am about to begin
, I enjoyed "The Book of Joe" by the same author, so hopefully this does not disappoint.
Just started Silents Kills by C. E. Lawerence. I'm about 1/4 the way through and am enjoying the book.

Yuliya- Yes, exactly! I think you're right about it being more of a kid's read: I hope your daughter enjoys it. :)
Finished Three Ways to Die which was a super fast good read and started Big Easy which has already got me very interested.
I am currently reading Wildlife Warrior: Steve Irwin: 1962 - 2006, a Man Who Changed the World. I am enjoying this book.
Just finished (both take each two days of listening during other activities) If Jack's in Love by Stephen Wetta and it was very good (modern Romeo and Juliett) and The Secret in Their Eyesby Eduardo Sacheri which was a little bit slow and melancholic but not bad at all tooRigh now I'm on The Shack - by William Paul Young - have not yet any idea that is about, hope it's not relegious reading
Guys, I just started the Iambik Audio book for All My Friends Are Superheroes and it's definitely a winner! Love it so far!

"what is the story my friend?
It is about a woman that is tempted to throw away her marriage, based on a man she desires, but it comes with reprecussions.
Now I am working on two books: And You Call Yourself a Christian and Parable of the Sower / Parable of the Talents / Kindred
I just DNFed a romance because I decided with the amount of great books on my shelves I can afford to show myself some compassion. Instead I started First Drop of Crimson which was probably not a wise choice as it is a paranormal romance.
Next I have promised myself I will start Our Mutual Friend.

First Drop of Crimson sounds so interesting.
John wrote: "...First Drop of Crimson sounds so interesting. ..."I'm wondering if there should be a sarcasm tag at the end of your comment!!
First Drop of Crimson is OK so far but standard stuff: gorgeous tall, dark vampire; attractive woman; 'circumstances'; 'dilemmas' and irresistibly delicious blood.
I have several of the type on my shelf but sometimes I think I should forget them all and just snuggle up with Sookie Stackhouse.

No I really find it interesting because of the title. I find it mysterious, so many meanings and so many images of crimson, of different kinds of crimson =P
Gardens of the Moon, so far it is pretty good... less detailed and such, but larger scope and more action, while still staying pretty intricate and clever
John wrote: "...No I really find it interesting because of the title. I find it mysterious, so many meanings and so many images of crimson, of different kinds of crimson =P ..."The crimson attracted me too. Of course it is the crimson of blood because it is a vampire tale.
Scott wrote: "I finished Gil's All Fright Diner and Countdown. Gil's was excellent.
Now I'm reading Patient Zero."
Oh my god, I LOVED Gil's!!!

Wow i love vampire stories but I prefer our Filipino version, the shapeshifting flesh-eating one. I am finishing a novella soon called "Love in the Time of Demons" would you like to read it?
John wrote: ".....I am finishing a novella soon called "Love in the Time of Demons" would you like to read it? ..."Sounds interesting. Is it a paraody on Love in the Time of Cholera where there is an epidemic of demons who kill, in many painful ways, the original characters from the story? Or would that just be wishful thinking on my part? :0)
Just finished my penpal read (for another group) for the month. I don't think either of us was blown away by it, although for me it got better as it went along. It was The Borgia Bride. I think one reason I liked The Devil's Queen: A Novel of Catherine de Medici better than this book by the same author is that Catherine de Medici seemed to be more an active shaper of her circumstance, whereas the main character of this book was mostly stuck being acted upon by circumstances she couldn't fully influence, and her frustration became my own.
