have u guys read the host, by stephanie meyers??
The NamesakeI just finished the group discussion book and now I am starting to read The Namesake which I just received in the mail today. Looks really good!
Allison, I read THE HOST, and I loved it! Could not put it down, and liked it better than her others.I am reading SHANGHAI GIRLS by Lisa See and I am loving it.
Allison, I also read The Host, and I thought it was fantastic! Today, I finished Wings by Aprilynne Pike, and I liked it well enough.
Reading Prozac Nation (for the summer challenge) and it is tough to get through for me...just seems like enless rambling on by the author!

I really want to read Shanghai Girls. Pls review it when you've read it.
I finally finished Captain Corelli's Mandolin. There were about a hundred pages that I just loved but the rest was just okay.Read through How I Live Now really quickly. It was just okay too.
Now I've got a good start on Mistress of the Art of Death and I'm really enjoying it so far.
Eva, I saw your post about A Season in the Life of Emmanuel and how you couldn't find your edition on here. Is it one of these? One about halfway down the list was published this year.
I just picked Reading Lolita in Tehran A Memoir in Books off my shelves (after browsing for a good half hour) and am enjoying it so far, though I'm not far into it yet.
I tried A Winter's Tale - Mark Helprin & I tried The Dante's Club - Matthew Pearl. So I am gonna read Over The Edge - Jonathan Kellerman.
Allison wrote: "have u guys read the host, by stephanie meyers??"The host is one of my favorite. Can't wait to read "The seeker" this year. I think in November.
I read Darkly Dreaming Dexter and absolutely loved it! I literally could not put it down. I started on The Exorcist after that and I'm about 20-30 pages in.
Allison wrote: "have u guys read the host, by stephanie meyers??"Yes...and I loved it!!! are you planning on reading it?
I've just finished Finger Lickin Fifteen by Janet Evanovich and I'm currently in the middle of Who Killed Bianca by Emma Darcy.
Just finished Promise Me by Harlan Coben and really liked it. This is my first Myron Bolitar novel, though I have read other Coben books. Myron is just quirky enough for me to like him. I would have given it 5 stars, but it got a bit predictable at the end.
currently i am reading The Physick Book of Deliverance Dane by Katherine Howe. If you like history and mystery :) i fully recommend this book. im only about half way through and i cant put the darn thing down.
I just started Undone by Karin Slaughter. I received my copy through the Goodreads First Reads program, it's the first book I have gotten.I have never read anything by her before, and it is moving fast. It is also a bit gory for me. Kind of like Criminal Minds (the TV show) on paper. I suspect it will be creepy soon enough, but don't know yet. I may not be able to read it in the dark :)

Sarah wrote: "Anyone read a book that makes them feel like a snail in how slow they read it? "I felt this way when I recently read Little Women. I just could not get moving on that book.
Jennifer wrote: "I finished My Sister's Keeper now I'm going to read Emma."What did you think of the ending? Have u seen the movie?
Sarah wrote: "Anyone read a book that makes them feel like a snail in how slow they read it? "Labyrinth - Kate Mosse
I'm nearly through InkHeart its amazing. I do not want to c the film as it will spoil my image of the book and they r neva the same as the real thing.
Sally wrote: "I'm nearly through InkHeart its amazing. I do not want to c the film as it will spoil my image of the book and they r neva the same as the real thing."I've seen the movie but not read the book.
Just picked up Something Missing A Novel by Matthew Dicks, about an obsessive-compulsive burglar who only takes items the homeowners won't miss. Looks like a fun read.
Jennifer wrote: "I finished My Sister's Keeper now I'm going to read Emma."I just started reading My sister's keeper. How do you like it?
Honistie wrote: "I hate you right now. LOL. I want to read Darkly Dreaming Dexter. I will try to call later -k-"Nah, nah, nah, nah! Hee, hee!
I am half-way through The Broken Shore A Novel and am just starting Legacy for my Tudor group. As for The Book Thief, I must be the only person on the planet that picked that book up, read about two chapters, and decided I didn't like it. Everyone in all my groups seems to rave about it, including my sister. I'm thinking I must have missed something and should try it again.

So far (50 pages in) I like it. The dark humour is just hilarious. And the case was not what I was expecting. I do like surprises :)

Yes, I know it's crazy, but I started re-reading the Harry Potter series. On the 3rd book now. Hope to see the new movie soon.
Dar, I can't wait to read The Seeker either! I didn't know there were going to be more books after The Host...

I re-read, or really, skimmed through, the last 3 books in anticipation of the 6th movie a few days ago.
Have to put my books aside and read a ML (Mobile Library) book called Wedding Babylon - Imogen Edwards-Jones & Anonymous.
Wendy wrote: "Yes, I know it's crazy, but I started re-reading the Harry Potter series. On the 3rd book now. Hope to see the new movie soon."Not so crazy, I wanted to read them again, too!
Hey there! I am currently reading The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton and am really enjoying it. Recent great books I've read include Cutting for Stone by A. Verghese, The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo by S. Larsson (I'm waiting for the next one to come out in the U.S. at the end of this month: The Girl Who Played With Fire) and A Reliable Wife by R. Goolrick.Lyn, I only read a couple of chapters of The Book Thief and stopped. It just didn't grab me at all-i don't know why.
