Fantasy. :) And I don't really have any pictures for most of them - aside from the last two, none of their appearances are particularly important. But I've had friends and artists do pictures of those two, The Charnel and The Woman of the Waters.

early 40s
Royal Father of the Elves
Theodore was born in the Austral capital on the day of the Awakening. He was born a mute, and his mother gave him a faery so that he could learn the magic needed to speak. He studied in the city's largest library in his teenage years, alongside Algernon and Nathaniel, to become a telepath. Through his twenties, he worked with Algernon in his railroad business, but his magic specialized after a decade, and he decided to move on to acting with Vivian. The two became close friends. When the former Royal Father offed himself, Theodore competed in the Coronation and took the crown for himself. In the process, he lost his magic, his mother, and gained a new one in the form of a dragon.
Gertrude
fourteen
Royal Sister of the Elves
Gertrude lost her mother when Theodore became Royal Father, and in exchange became the kingdom's princess. She and Theodore were never close; he had moved out of the house before Gertrude was born. She does not resent her brother for their mother's death, and she grows to see Vivian as a maternal figure in her life. She is attracted to both Nathaniel and Sebastian.
Vivian
early 30s
stage actress, mechanic
Vivian was born in the Occident when her mother was overseeing the construction of the railroad. Though she only saw him a few times a year, she and Algernon were very close siblings, and they keep in touch to this day. She focused more on the technical aspects of the family business, learning to repair the trains instead of negotiating where they were put. She moved to the Austral to become an actress, where she met Theodore. They owned an apartment together and are very close.
Algernon
early 40s
railroad baron, Advisor
Algernon studied for several years at the central library, learning of business practices and gaining the allegiance of Theodore for a decade of mind reading during negotiations. He is dedicated to the railroad, and works hard to ensure it's success in all areas of the kingdom, even the less savory parts of the Occident. He became a member of the Advisory when he married Briar. When Theodore becomes Royal Father, he volunteers to act as his Advisor on his travels to the West.
Briar
early 60s
Lady of the Advisory
Briar was raised in the court, and she knows little of a world outside of politics. Her duties are to the kingdom and the balance of power between the Royal Father and herself. She met Algernon in her late 30s and fell in love with the younger man soon after. She was the one who proposed.
Nathaniel
early 40s
Speaker for the Father
Nathaniel and Theodore both studied magic of the mind, but where Theodore focused on projecting his thoughts so that he might speak, Nathaniel learned to read intentions. A skill he would soon need in the Occident, where earworms were coming through the mountains by the week. His first success was with Dolores, who soon became the mother of his child. Though they have parted ways, he respects her highly and still helps her when he can. When Theodore became Royal Father, he called Nathaniel to be his speaker.
Sebastian
early 20s
homeless, drug addict
Sebastian is the child of Dolores and Nathaniel, and the only known human-elf born. Because of his mother's genes, he cannot accept faery's magic and must rely on the natural magic of Molusk. Every relationship he forms can be broken to create a golem, it's strength dependent on the strength of the cut tie. He has already cut that tie with his mother, though he remains close with Nathaniel.
Dolores Francisca Thurston
early 30s
Representative of the Earwigs
Dolores was abandoned in an orphanage in Boston during the Roaring 20s by her mother, a woman named Charlotte. She was named for her father. She was taken in by a university librarian. A great evil beset the school, and though her adoptive father helped defeat it, it was not before it took her away. At age 11, she appeared in Molusk, unable to speak the native tongue and lost at the sight of fantasy and horror. Nathaniel helped her learn the language and found work for her in this new world, and the two had a short-lived relationship that resulted in a child, Sebastian. Bartholomew hired her to represent the other humans living in this world, as she had been here the longest, and she values her position highly. She is married to Jack Tollers.
Jack Tollers
early 50s
engineer, Representative of the Earwigs
An Englishman with a good education, Jack was initially intrigued with Molusk upon arrival, and has dedicated most of his time to studying it and comparing it to Earth. He has a fondness for Shakespeare, and tends to call dragons by Shakespearean names. Theodore's are called Ophelia, Hamlet, and Laertes, and Archibald's are called Desdemona, Othello, and Iago. Along with his wife, Dolores, he advises the people of Earth and helps them adjust to their new surroundings. Jack helps Bartholomew develop new technologies based on the resources of the land, advancing Molusk's technology heavily, if a bit haphazardly.
Mercedes and Magdalene Tollers
one and three, respectively
Mercedes and Magdalene are Dolores and Jack's children. Mercedes is deaf and Magdalene is blind.
Natsume Goshima
early 20s
prostitute, Representative of the Earwigs
Natsume was the first Earthling to come from a land that does not speak English. Near every earwig was from England, or else New England, but Natsume proved a challenge when none of the other earwigs could speak with her. She was young, though, and picked up quickly on the native tongue. She helps other Japanese earwigs who appear (there have since been several), and aids Nathaniel in learning to speak it himself. She is Dolores' best friend.
Bartholomew
approx. 3,000 yrs old (d. early 60s)
Lord of the Immortelle
Bartholomew once was the head of the Occidental Court, a respectable branch of the government, but he was far too interested in immortality. So many things in their world were immortal, but not elves. He sought it, and in his quest, many people died. His wife, far more ambitious than he, lost herself to the cause, and he lost an eye to her. He perfected her work and became an immortal himself, but without her, he could not create many more. He watched his children and grandchildren grow old and die, and it was not until Archibald came to his palace that he gave another eternal life. The two are now lovers, and Bartholomew has his eyes on a third for the relationship, Theodore.
Archibald
approx. 700 yrs old (d. mid 50s)
Lord of the Immortelle
The first Royal Father of the Elves, Archibald, made it his duty to rid Molusk of that which split their kingdom in two: the Immortelle. He headed to the Occident, and was never seen again. It was there that he met Bartholomew, and was offered immortality. He fell in love with the widower, and after a few decades of romancing, the two became lovers.
Meredith
approx. 3,000 yrs old (d. late 40s)
Lady of the Revenant
Meredith was a woman of science. She studied the descents, dragons, Amarant, and anything else with a trace of longevity and yearned to find the secret. In her attempts, she was killed by her creations and went mad as she felt death, becoming a revenant herself. Though they're all mad, she has some control over the walking dead. She studied water magic, learning to manipulate the strong tides between the Boreal Islands and the Molusk mainland, as well as the blood inside those she was studying. When her magic specialized, she could only move pure water. She could move an ocean, but leave a mountain of salt and sand in her wake. Meredith, though mad, remembers Bartholomew as her husband, and does not take kindly to his lovers.
Edmund
late 20s
submariner, drug addict
Edmund studied to be a librarian as a youth, and still loves his books more than he loves the ocean, but the submarine was far too fascinating to ignore. Bartholomew, his some odd great grandfather, helped him learn to navigate the submersible machine, and he has been at sea ever since. He has several children, although none with his wife.
Harper
approx. 300 yrs old (d. late 20s)
pilot, drug dealer
Harper was comatose since she was a little girl. For twenty years, she sat in a bed without any awareness of the world. Her home was attacked by the revenant, who killed her in her slumber, and she became one of them when she awoke at last. She was more aware than most of them, though she was far from sound, and she came to Bartholomew so that she could join with society once more. She works for him both as a pilot of his odd flying machines, most of which crash within two test flights, and as a drug dealer. Her husband is one of her buyers.
The Charnel
age unknown
reaper of the dead, guardian of magic
The Charnel was born an elf, a general and a king, to the royal family that once ruled this kingdom. He was then known as Ydd Albus. He could sense magic at its deepest core and was a man far more powerful than any elf before him. He could hold a descent down in battle and kill her with a blade of her own stone. The Amarant acknowledged his power and made him their Charnel, putting them into their long slumber and giving him the power over all magic and life in Molusk. He shall become an elf once more when he expends his last magic on his last male heir, Theodore.
The Woman of the Waters
age unknown
guardian of the Nussex Sea
Once known as Metharme and among the oldest beings known to the elves, she lives in the Nussex Sea, between the Occident and Boreal Islands, she was also once an elf, who sought to find the Amarant by swimming to the world's end. She became as a bounder, though retained her elven form. Her skin was scaled, her limbs like fins, and she lived off of the plants and lingering life in the sea. Bartholomew and her work together to keep the revenant on the islands.
