Mahirap ata yan hehehe.
@H Ok thanks! Meron akong Dracula, Crime and Punishment, Tess D' ubervilles ,Great Expectations and Scarlet Letter.
Puro alikabok na sila sa table ko.

H, thanks for pushing the list.Charles: Mahabang kuwentuhan yan. Baka ma-spoil si Angus. But anyway, if I remember it right, walang sex after na mamatay yong anak nila di ba?
Naku, don't mind me, I don't mind spoilers. Aksheli mas gusto ko sila, at least naliliwanagan ako, hahaha!
Baka gusto mong gumawa ng threads:1) Ulysses - specific non-1001 book or James Joyce so we can discuss all his works.
2) Manix Abrera - specific author thread
3) Mina V. Esguerra - specific author thread
Para di kalat-kalat ang discussions nila. Or kung hindi ikaw, any member out there na favorite ang mga authors na ito. Go!!!
Parang di masaya kasi walang ibang active hak hak. So, di tuloy ako nagme-member. :)
Im interested on reading Ulysses, meron akong copy but i've not read the entirety of it. any one wants to post a thread? so at least we can share our own insight about joyce's work.
Go ako jan sa Ulysses! goodluck na lang sa akin back to back Gone with the wind, War & Peace at Ulysses baka may ahhabol pa jan hahaha!...need help,,,(Hello Janus)
You can check the thread at the Archives folder. :D

Billy wrote: "sure AennaA, uuwi ako ng bulacan later i can get my copy and start re-reading it again."Ah eh...di po ako ang nagbabasa ng Ulysses...
Cary and I were talking about Villette by Charlotte Bronte. Nevertheless, if you have a copy & you want to join us, you are welcome.

==========[ THIS IS A PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT. I AM POSTING THIS MERELY TO MAXIMIZE READ COUNT. ]
Hello there!
This is DC. I'll be moderating the book discussion for TFG's October book-of-the-month.
In case you're not aware of it, the group talks about one book each month, taken from the TFG's Top 100 list, as may be seen HERE . This discussion (online and face-to-face) allows the members of the group to explore different books - effectively spreading the word that there ARE great books that may lie outside your preferred genre!
(By the way, our current book of discussion is The Remains of the Day by Kazuo Ishiguro. You may find the current discussion for this book HERE .)
Now, I'd like to ask for your help in choosing the book for October (seeing as the months prior to that already have a set book, as you may see HERE ). Our theme for that month would be relating to Women and Classics. The choices are as follows:
PRIDE AND PREJUDICE by Jane Austen
THE SECRET GARDEN by Frances Hodgson Burnett
LITTLE WOMEN by Louisa May Alcott
Right now, the set book for October is Pride and Prejudice . It's not too late, though! You can still change this by voting on our poll HERE . (We need around 180 members to VOTE in order to change this.)
Is there a book among the three that seems challenging or different from what you're reading right now? Maybe you've thought of reading one of these, but haven't actually pushed through with it? If so - VOTE for it, and maybe you'll end up reading it in October! Your voice counts! (Oh, and please note that the poll ends by July 7.)
"A single grain of rice can tip the scale. One man may be the difference between victory and defeat."
I sincerely hope to see your participation in this endeavor :) Thank you very much for reading this, and may you all have a great day!
Cheers!
-DC

I voted for P&P during the F2F but I am campaigning for "Secret". Why? Because I want members to be aware of how good the book is. So, next time, it will have a bigger chance of winning!!! :) 180 votes is insurmountable at this point in time that we have very few voters and "Secret" does not compete against P&P alone. There is another book with more followers - the equality brilliant "Little Women." I liked that book too. It is a "deathless" book.

Oh sure! Yay, do you think our hearts are ready?;)Let's start on the 9th then? :)
Anyone who wants to read
?I can shoot an e-book your way if you're interested. Just message me. Hehehe!
Lynai wrote: "Oh sure! Yay, do you think our hearts are ready?;)Let's start on the 9th then? :) "I'm pretty sure Blackout will also shatter my heart, but I believe my heart is strong enough. HAHA MAY GANUN. Yes yes, the 9th is okay. :)
TINA: How fast shall we go? Do you have a target date to finish the book? I have included this in my Required Reading for the month, by the way. ;)
Bennard, di ko mahanap ang kopya ko. Nawalan kasi kami ng katulong so nagwawalis, naghuhugas ng plato, naglilinis ng CR pag weekends hak hak. Kailangan kong mag-search sa stacks of books ko. O di kaya bumili ng bagong copy hak hak. This weekend, I'll try to look for my copy!!!
Lynai wrote: "TINA: How fast shall we go? Do you have a target date to finish the book? I have included this in my Required Reading for the month, by the way. ;)"Lynai: Not sure how many chapters it has (haha, I haven't even removed my copy from the plastic!) but maybe about 2-3 chapters a day? If I remember correctly from The Ask and the Answer, I expect it to be engrossing. :)
TINA: I'll check the book tonight when I get home and then set up the thread. I hope others will join us too para masaya. (Calling, Maria). :D
Bennard: I checked my GR bookshelves. I'll create the thread now.Tina: I will also read with you but please do not include my name in the thread kasi di ko alam kung gusto ko.
I will try this weekend. Pero nakita ko yong matagal ko nang hinahanap na "Carry Me Down" (Booker shortlisted 2006) at yong "Pale View of the Hills" ni Ish hak hak. But son, we are still on...
Lynai: haha okay wala pala syang chapter numbers! Eep. But we can do 3-4 chapters a day na lang kasi it's about 600 pages. Estimate lang :) Pwede sumobra :)Will start the thread later when I get to work :)
Edited to Add:
KD! Ngayon ko lang nabasa post mo. Sure thing. :D Haha just drop by the thread anytime!
TINA: Ay, walang chapter numbers? I forgot already haha! 3-4 chapters is fine with me. I will make it my evening read, and Anne Tyler's Breathing Lessons in the morning. :)K.D. It will be fun to hear your thoughts about this book, including your dislike of it, if ever. :)
Ay parehong di umaabante yon. Busy. How about the other members? Next in line ko na kasi ito sa 1001 quest ko eh. After Ali Smith's
The Accidental.
