Onga. It's amazing to realize that we have almost the same taste on books, King. Keep on listing. May lalabas at lalabas na di ko pa nabasa hak hak.
Wanted Reading Buddy for:
Preferably, a female reader with a strong feminist philosophy in life because I'll be quite the misogynist when I/we book buddy read it (requirement set so for egalitarian purposes). Hak hak hak! X`D

oh good... at least, i know it's not me... wahaha... i suck at my first buddy read... =(
So, magstart magbasa, then after a chapter or two aayaw na kasi walang time, boring, di nya pala gusto, etc.

Haha! :D
As to my experience, di ko naman talaga forte ang crime-mystery (or more specifically detective fiction), the closest I read from the genre are the tales of Edgar Allan Poe featuring C. Auguste Dupin. It's because of Sherlock I'm willing to explore more of it to the point that I bumped Wilkie Collins's books up my TBR list.
Hak hak hak! X`D
Also, about the preference, it's just because of the feminist author.
Onga. Ako, one of these days, magbabasa na ng western hak hak. But I loved watching western movies like "Unforgiven" "High Noon" "Dancing with the Wolves" "The Last Mohican" etc. Di ko pang ma-take basahin.
First love ko ang mystery/suspense books, lalo na kung fast-paced at thrilling ang plot.i'd join you jzhun, kaso may line up na ko eh, ng TBR. Ung A Clash of Kings nga ni KD at Lynai, hnd ako maka-epal. lol

I can't vouch yet if the book intended for the Buddy Read has fast-paced, thrilling plot. However, I have faith in JL's recommendation. :)
Hi! It's been a long time since I've posted anything with this group, but I would like a reading buddy! I have two books, about WW2 in the Philippines. They are two books in a series, and I'm busy writing my third about the partisan underground guerillas during WWII. Both of my published books are:
and
I have reviews on my website. They are also available as e-books on Amazon.com or at Xlibris.comHope someone responds. I forgot to mention that they are historical fiction. Joyce

Hi King. Sige I'll attempt War and Peace again. I want to finish it this time. Have you started?

@Destina, hi! Join po ako sa War & Peace?
Sige nga, mag-War and Peace kayo! Dare hak hak. Open the thread now. Put a schedule. Mapapabilib ako kung:1) May agreed start and end dates kayo at maga-achieve ninyo.
2) May daily posts kayong lahat
3) Tas may review pa in the end.
Ngayon pa lang: Klap! Klap! (dadami yan pag naggawa ninyo ang 1-3). Good luck! :)
Yan daw yong book na maraming bumibili. Itra-try basahin. I read the above from a review of "Ulysses" by James Joyce. Pareho lang daw yang dalawa. Nagiging trophy books lang.
Bennard, will you be the one to create the thread for our 1st buddy read? You can set the reading plan that suits you best. It's a short novel but a meaningful one so we don't need to rush :)Nice meeting you yesterday! :)
@ K.D.: okay lang po ba kung ikaw muna so that I can have a feel of how it is done? first ever buddy read ko ito eh.:)
Bennard: Okay, I'll do that. Let's start on Monday, July 2nd? I have to look for my book pa! I tried looking for it kaso, wala sa harapan ng mga piles! :)
hey, K.D, nga pala, are we pushing through with Villette? Har har. I forgot about it na. Were you able to find your book na?
AennA: No eh. My kuya could not find our copy of the book. I also looked around for it, wala akong makita. Sorry, next time na lang. I will keep on looking for a copy and will tell you. :)
Ok. Sige. I think I'll be reading other books on my pile din muna eh. New books arrived that I can't resist reading. :D
Anyone reading A Game of Thrones? Gusto ko na talaga maging "serious reader" , i have a problem retaining what i have read and digesting what's written. (Looking for a sensei, guru, mentor) =D
Maldita,There's another thread discussing the book.
I don't think considered "serious reading" siya, haha.
XD
Maldita wrote: "Hahahha ganun ba yun? Kung considered serious reading na para sa akin yung AGOT, paano pa kaya yung kay Angus. Sasabog na utak ko. XD"Gusto mo ng serious reading? Consult KD on Ulysses Hahaha!
Hindi sumasabog ang utak, Maldita. Feeling mo lang yon. Galing din kami sa ganyan. Buo pa ang mga utak namin.Brain food ang libro. So, start feeding it with better books. Not that AGOT is not a brain food. Entree pa lang yan hak hak.
H wrote: Consult KD on Ulysses Hahaha!
