I think that would be a very intriguing idea! I can only imagine what Mrs. Hargrove and Charlie look like. I think that sounds kind of cool!
Im not really sure what trading cards are. I know some authors do book covers they give away or bookmarks with info of the book etc. I thinking trading cards are about the size of a playing card? It does sound like a good idea but how would it work. Would you hand them out. post them out? how would people get them. It does sound interesting. (full of questions not sure im much help)

I know we have some here for some sports and kids and adult collectors then try to get autographs.the other thing I guess too is with the books only on the shelf a short time would you have time to get the cards out in time? I guess one thing if there is the chance to get a set of cards for a series knowing there will be more with each new book could be a draw for some.
While I enjoy bookmarks I have more than I could ever use but they have been good ways to plug books too.
I have been sent book covers with books I have won and I know some readers love these and collect them but I sort of wondered what to do with them. The cards would be good if you could maybe make them into a pack of cards. like if other authors also did it and the front was similar the backs have the different card numbers and the pics.
I got some playing cards in hawaii at a national park and it has pics of national parks on the front of all the cards (same pic) and the back they have the different parks in america. I love them cos they have so many I want to see like Gettysburg, grand canyon a few in hawaii etc.
Of course if the cards are signed I know alot of readers would be interested im sure.

I don't collect anything, and I even give my books to the library to sell to raise money for children’s programs at the library, after I read them (well I take out the dedication pages of the ones that have them though. Those are far too dear to my heart to give away!). I am a minimalist in decor and by nature I guess, so for me collector cards wouldn't be an item of interest, but I think I am in the minority. Most people are collectors of one or more things. I find that the things people collect most often are those things that evoke an emotion, or sentimental response, and books can bring out both of those emotions. I would give collector cards a go Janet! Your books and characters are loved by so many :)

I think it's a neat idea! Especially if they are signed and have a short bio or something attached to the card.

The literacy event is open to the public (proceeds are donated to groups working to promote literacy). Hundreds of authors have tables of books to sell (donated by the pubishers). We authors sit by our books and talk to readers. That's when we are going to give out the trading cards.
So, thanks for being a sounding board for us. We all appreciate it!
I love there will be room for autographs thats part of the fun of collecting cards. This sounds so cool.So wish I could have been there it would be so much fun.

Yeah it would, but thats the weekend I am taking one of two state test for getting my Teaching certification. Otherwise, I might seriously consider it! It would be a blast!

I Would love to collect the cards! I like to collect different things! Janet, If you decide to do this, when can we request them by mail and how much will the cards be?

I have a library in my house... I love my Nook but some books I just have to own and I love to get them signed, but that opportunity is a rare one. It touches my heart when an author has taken time to sign a book, cover, or etc and they mean a lot to me, so I'm in!
