Kathyjacks | 24 comments I rarely read a book and want it to be turned into a movie but i loved this series so much I read through them all and then started rereading the series the next day. I would love for this series to become a movie but everything I have seen suggests that no ones even interested in buying rights or writing a screenplay for this. I know some won't want their favorite book "ruined" by converting it and I know the movie is never as good as the book , but I would love to be able to see this as a movie. Anyone know anything more ? Would you want this to be a movie or even a tv series?

message 2: by Jess (new)

Jess (otherstories) I'd be happy with either a tv series or a movie. As long as it had Bones I don't care. I think it would work better as a movie franchise than a tv show, there's too much in the books that will probably be cut to turn it into an hour of show. Hmmm

A mini series(like on HBO or Showtime)would do, being that the series isn't that long as of yet? I can't see Night Huntress as a movie or a TV show either. A mini series would be just long enough to keep in all of the good stuff and not have to be slaughtered a.k.a edited to death...lol

Wishful thinking, huh ladies? Who would want to see Bones live and in the flesh on the TV???

message 4: by Jess (new)

Jess (otherstories) Yeah I think a mini tv series would be good, an hour long for each episode.

Oh I would love to see Bones in the flesh! Who would you cast as Bones? I'm having a hard time finding a good enough actor.

I think a tv series would work better than a movie b/c there are so many ways you can expand on this series and a lot of things can happen. The only things that concerns me is if the right actors/actresses can be discovered. and plz no HBO. HBO does not know how to do tv series. I think True Blood looks so phony and to me they screwed that up worse than Twilight. It’s made me not wanna read the books.

message 6: by Jess (new)

Jess (otherstories) Yeah a tv series would work better. I think people might get fed up with another vampire franchise after Vampire Academy is released (if it ever finds a casting director, director, screen writer). It would be a better successful as a tv show like Vampire Diaries.

Oh, yes. The creators of the vamprie diaries are amazing! I would love for them to take on Night Huntress Series as a project. I just would want some of those hot CAt and Bones scenes that we love. XD

message 8: by Jess (new)

Jess (otherstories) Yeah definitely. It would need to be played after 10pm I think. Lol. If the Cat and Bones sex scenes are to be involved they need to be done right. Its like soft porn!

How about the blond guy from the movie Fast and the Furious? He is a hotty!

Concerning the issues of the soft porn...lol That is exactly why I said it should be done on HBO or Showtime!! TV will surely cut out that 20 minute long orgasm!! And no, we can't be having that!

HBO can’t do a tv series, piece of crap. I haven’t seen anything from showtime yet. I rather not have tv show if it is poorly done and a piece of shit. Everyone wants the sex scenes, though, of course, but I would rather no tv show if they can’t think everything through and make it as best as possible like they did with the vampire diaries. The Vamprie diaries is the only book adaption that I think went so beyond miracles. They need producers like the ones of the vampire diaries to take on Night Huntress.

I hated the Vampire Diaries books but love the show .They did a great job adapting that story to tv!I also agree HBO or Showtime would have to do the series in order for the sex scenes to make it in. I think the show would be boring without them. That and Bones smart comments makes these books what they are.

You mean Paul Walker? Yeah he could be. I've had such a hard time picking and actor. Kellan Lutz keeps popping into my head, but he's done the whole vampire thing with Twilight so he's probably out.

I haven't read the True Blood books so I have no comment on HBO. I think if writers like VD pick up Night Huntress, it could be done really really well.

True Blood has convinced me not to read the books, that's how bad I think it is done. and the thing is I watched the twilight movie first and never read and since I loved the movie I wanted to try the books and I ended up loving it and got me to read, but after reading the twilight books I think Twilight was poorly done, but not as bad as true blood.

I love Twilight and have read the series over and over again. I am glad they made the movies and every time they come out I run out to see them but you are right they were done poorly. I do think with each one they improve but I like to think of the movies as a companion to the books not the same thing. Nothing will ever compare to the books for me . Even with True Blood the show is so different after the first season from the books that when I read the whole series I didn't feel like it spoiled the show for me. I guess I will have to wait to see how the Vampire Academy movie holds up compared to the books and then I think the Fever series is getting picked up as a movie as well. I guess what I want is more Night Huntress any way I can get it lol.

As for Kellan Lutz he's a cutie but I think he would avoid being cast in another big Vampire movie just out of concern of being typecast in the future? I can't think of anyone I could see as Bones.

That's him! Paul Walker. He could be the blond Bones for me...lol And if Night Huntress is ever brought to film of any sort, I will be glued to it whether it be on screen or TV...lol

message 18: by Gabriella (new)

Gabriella (belley) I would really rather no tv series or movie be done at all. I don't think I'd want the chance to be taken that Night Huntress as a tv series or movie could be stuffed up as bad as Twilight was (worst movie of all time)or TrueBlood (I've seen not even 5 seconds of it and I thought it was terrible)to me its just too big a chance but if it was to happen I'd say a Tv series done by the people who did Vampire Diaries - at least they can make it look realistic

This is Bones we are talking about people, Perfection is a must!

message 19: by Mariya (new)

Mariya (cr6zym0nkeyiz) | 594 comments Mod
I 100% agree with you Gabriella. When I think of some of my all-time favorite series, I am like no way, but I love to dream about how certain scenes would be portrayed on-screen. I don't think they could find a Bones in a million years. Honestly I have yet to find any model/actor to even compare to him. I honestly think adult UF/PNR should not be touched, unless someone takes on the prject like the people of creating TVD.

True Blood is crap and it looks so fake. I want the people who take on these UF series to know what they are doing. and TVD creator obviously knew what they were doing.

message 20: by Gabriella (new)

Gabriella (belley) Exactly, it would be nice to see certain scenes played out on the tv but if they want to put Night Huntress to screen then they need to know what they are doing. Maybe if there was a combo of people who really know their film and visual effects and all that stuff plus were UF/PNR readers and knew what needed to be done to get a movie/Tv series right. And would actually stick to the plot!

I hear you, I can hardly create an image even remotely close to the perfect Bones in my mind let alone find an actor that could be him (temporarily of coarse)

My thoughts are solid for the time being.. I think I'll wait to see if the coming book to movie/tv series conversions improve or continue on there downward spiral before I even contemplate changing my mind.

message 21: by Samantha (new)

Samantha | 17 comments To be honest I don't know if I would want to see this on the big or small screen. I would hate to ruin the images in my head. What if they don't cast right? I would be angry!

message 22: by Gabriella (new)

Gabriella (belley) I hate that. I read a book I really like and then a movie or a tv series comes out and I see it and then when I read the book again I've got those actors faces in place of my own creations and its just way off and so.bloody.annoying because I can't get them out of my head!

I'm really scared for Hunger Games and City of Bones but I think I'd burst into tears if they ruined Night Huntress

I have yet to find a movie adpation that is done perfect. I didn't like TVD books, I actually read them b/c I heard a tv series was coming out. but the tv series turned out PHENOM! I am nervous for TMI, like how they are doing the visual effect, action scenes, everything! I hope to find a book I love where they do an PHENOMIBLE job on the movie as well. I haven't found one yet.

message 24: by Samantha (new)

Samantha | 17 comments I haven't read either of those Gabriella but I do have Hunger Games on audio on my ipod.

message 25: by Gabriella (new)

Gabriella (belley) Well get to listening Samantha, its a good book and hopefully you'll like it... its not adult like Night Huntress so it does depend what you like but I've got high hopes - that goes for Hunger Games and Mortal Instruments

message 26: by Samantha (new)

Samantha | 17 comments I've been putting it off b/c its not an adult book but it has been getting nice reviews so I can't wait :)

message 28: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (mskat) | 3 comments Well, I enjoy True Blood *and* love the books as two different things. I didn't really like TVD as books, but love the tv show. And I hated twilight either way LOL.
If it were made into a tv series or a movie, there is no way I could keep myself from watching, although of course I don't think it could ever compare to the books. Even small differences of opinion on what a character looks and sounds like makes a huge difference in the way a book is adapted to the screen! I guess what I'm saying is, I'd prefer it if they remained as books, but if they did make it onto the screen, I'd watch anyway.

message 29: by Aisley (new)

Aisley (De_Trencavel) OK ladies, let's just enjoy some daydreaming and cast the series. Please all go to the "photos" section and take a look at my choices. If you don't agree with any of my options, please tell me why and who do you see playing that character instead. It could prove to be a very entertaining exchange.

@Aisley: please do not add photos to the photos section. the photo section is only for MODS to add photos. (only photos on there will be of the bookcovers.) if you are adding castings photos of who you predict the actors would look like create a new thead called: Casting for Characters. Thank you. I will be deleteing the pictures you have added.

message 34: by Jacque (new)

Jacque (jaxroxx) | 11 comments I would not want it to be turned into TV or a movie (other than to see the hunky guys they would get to play these vamps) simply because if they change it like they did with True Blood it would suck! At least this season of True Blood is sort of going back to the roots of the book!

I would LOVE for showtime to do a series to to compete with True Blood of The Black Dagger Brotherhood Series. Those guys would be SO HOT on the screen!!!! If you have not read that series it is a MUST MUST MUST!!!

I totally agree with you Julie, I loved the sookie books and the creative writer who has now stepped down as of this season has ruined the whole series and would hate to see this book series ruined also, the hollow series is suppose to be picked up by the CW channel on tv and i fear for that too... Kim harrison is brilliant but rights are sold and she may have no say, even so we seen this happen with Jim Butchers dresden files!!! they made a spin off on his books and it was dropped after season one did not even follow the books so I AGREE WITH YOU! KAREN

message 39: by Missyb (new)

Missyb | 5 comments BDB would be a good show. Sort of a Blade, Van Helsing, Underworld type. Maybe instead of a series, just a movie or two so it stays a little closer to the books then what True Blood has become.

message 40: by Julie (new)

Julie Miszuk (jules_leblanc) | 14 comments I DIDNT KNOW KIM HARRISONS THE HALLOWS SERIES WAS BEING TURNED INTO A SHOW!!!! :(, and they did ruin the dresden files..tho i actually love the actor they chose to play harry dresden...and murphy. :) for once...lols,and what is this Black dagger brotherhood i keep hearing so much about??

message 41: by Karen (new)

Karen (karendelg) | 32 comments I don't know about Black Daggar Brother hood My sister is reading it. Of course you can review it on this site.. But Yes if you check out Kim Harrison's web page she has a small info insert on her Hollows being picked up by THE CW Channel. Lets hope for the best..

Brittany (brittany8_22) | 24 comments If the Night Huntress series were turned into a movie/tv show i would hope for a tv show. you can put more of the movie into it since it's longer than a movie. Though I would want it to be on like HBO or showtime cause for regular tv... they would have to edit it so much to make it appropriate. Like the dirty talking scene towards the beginning... they can't show that on a regular tv haha

Any books that are made for adult readers (like BDB) I don't think they should be on regular TV. I personally haven't read BDB yet but I'm sure it's got some naughty stuff it there. I'm not saying for HBO or showtime to make the tv series extra slutty and with tons of sex but if someone made those books into a tv series would you want your child to be flicking through the channel and find that... No haha.
