FICTION FAVORITES
no runaway favorite this year....

#1 THE HELP -----8 votes

#2 3-way tie ------6 votes each
--------- The Girl Who Played With Fire
--------- The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
--------- Saving CeeCee Honeycutt

#3 The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest

So I guess we could say that Stieg Larsson was the big winner!

NON-FICTION FAVORITES

As usual, just a very few books got multiple votes, and those numbers of votes are always very small.

#1 -----tie -----3 votes each
------- Game Change - Heilemann and Halperin
------- The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks - Rebecca Skloot

and these four books got 2 votes each, so I guess that makes them all #2

Columbine - Dave Cullen
Unbroken - Laura Hillenbrand
Stones into Schools - Greg Mortenson
Official Book Club Selection - Kathy Griffin

I think this is the last year that I am going to do this. Only 32 people voted, fewer than half the number of last year. It is just too much trouble for such a small number, to be honest.....and very disheartening after all these years.

RNOCEAN | 93 comments I agree JoAnn, we are all busy but the love of books is why I came initially to this forum. I learned to add so very many books to my TBR list just through this site alone. I will continue to frequent here because it feels like home....thanks for the list.

Stieg Larrson died too young, I am hooked on his books, read them all and saw the films!

NancyInWI (nanckopf) | 47 comments Thanks so much for doing this, JoAnn and I'm really sad that more people didn't participate. I so enjoyed getting the list at the end of the year when we were on the AOL message boards. I know it's a lot of work, and I'm happy that you did it for as long as you did. THANKS!
