Vic (vicaet) | 16 comments I've been using ASIN number for audible editions of an audio book. I tend to use the ASIN value at if the edition is listed there. This value is sometimes different from the ASIN in the URL on audible. Should this be 2 editions? Currently I was adding note to the edition I added.

If I can't find the product at amazon but there is an ASIN in the audible URL, I have been using the value from the audible URL and adding note.

Sandra | 23146 comments Interesting Vic, I thought ASIN was solely used for Kindle.

Your question though, if there are 2 ASINs then that means 2 editions.

ASINs can be used for any book listed on Amazon that lacks an ISBN.

The ONLY source of ASINs is Amazon.

Vic (vicaet) | 16 comments Well, I did bring it up because audible is now an amazon company... :) I didn't make that clear in my original question.

On Amazon itself, Audible editions get ASINs. As far as I can tell, the numbers assigned on the Audible site are not ASINs, but use some other numbering system.

Vic (vicaet) | 16 comments I'll make sure this information is known in the few audiobook groups I'm on for adding audible editions. Thanks again for the clarifications. :)
