Hi Beth, once you have opened a thread in this folder, I prefer that you continue to add new comments and updates to that one thread, instead of creating a new thread each time... it bogs the folder down very quickly.

Could you please combine the two, and then as you add to it with new comments, simply edit the title ? Thanks so much!

Beth | 137 comments To bring you all up-to-date on Deadly Currents Deadly Currents (An RM Outdoor Adventures Mystery, #1) by Beth Groundwater , the first book in the Rocky Mountain Outdoor Adventures series starring whitewater river ranger Mandy Tanner, here's some of the favorable reviews it has received:

“This enjoyable first in a new cozy series from Groundwater introduces Mandy Tanner, ‘a brand new seasonal river ranger’ on Colorado's Arkansas River.”
-- Publisher's Weekly, January 10, 2011

“With a fresh locale and a spunky … heroine, this is a promising new series by the author of the gift-basket designer Claire Hanover mysteries.”

Beth | 137 comments Here's an update on Deadly Currents Deadly Currents (An RM Outdoor Adventures Mystery, #1) by Beth Groundwater , the first book in my new Rocky Mountain Outdoor Adventures mystery series. First, a new review was included in Mystery Scene Magazine. Here's a pull quote:

"The amiable cast, along with Groundwater's fascinating firsthand knowledge of rafting, makes this a series worth watching."

And, I've got two signings coming up this weekend:

Beth | 137 comments I want to invite you all to read my blog posts, with most excellent photos taken by my husband, about my weekend spent at the FIBArk whitewater festival in Salida, CO. Yesterday's post was about my gig as the Parade VIP. Today's is about the whitewater competitions and my signing table with The Book Haven bookstore there, and tomorrow's will be about the always wild-and-crazy Hooligan Race complete with "Boris the Spider" and "The Natural Disasters." Have fun!

Beth | 137 comments I'm pleased to announce that my humorous mystery short story, "Flamingo Fatality," has been published in audio form by Sniplits and is available for purchase for only 99 cents at:
https://www.sniplits.com/storiesforau...

"Flamingo Fatality" first appeared in print form in 2005 in the Manhattan Mysteries anthology, that came about as the result of a short story contest held by the Great Manhattan Mystery Conclave held in Manhattan, Kansas. All of the stories selected for the anthology had to be set in Manhattan, as mine was. In the story, Diane is just enjoying a simple lunch hour walk when she discovers a dead pink flamingo and is thrust into the mystery behind it--accompanied by an eccentric old woman and a very handsome cop.

I'm very happy with the reading done by voice actress Kailey Bell, and I hope folks will purchase and listen to the story for a few good laughs. Sniplits has published two other mainstream fiction stories of mine, "Covered Dish Casseroles" and "Biscuit Connection," if you'd like to listen to other short stories written by moi. :)

Beth | 137 comments Many thanks to ezine Mysterical-e for the great review of my Deadly Currents mystery novel! Go to the website (http://www.mystericale.com/index.php?...) to read the whole review, but I loved the last two lines, "There’s lots of suspects, plenty of excitement, and even some time for romance. Groundwater knows her business and has made this not only exciting but also realistic."

Beth | 137 comments Hi everyone,
I want to let you know about my new release coming at the beginning of May, Wicked Eddies, the second book in my RM Outdoor Adventures mystery series.

Here's the blurb:
Fly fishing is dangerous? River ranger Mandy Tanner had no idea until days before a huge tournament in Salida, Colorado. True, the Arkansas River can be a man-eater, but the rapids weren’t responsible for driving a hatchet into the neck of would-be competitor Howie Abbott―a secretive man who may have been cheating. While casting about for suspects, Mandy seeks clues from Abbott’s family members, including her best friend, bartender Cynthia Abbott. But when Cynthia becomes the prime suspect, Mandy realizes she’s wading into deeper, more hazardous waters than ever.

I hope you'll add it to your to-read lists! Also, my Goodreads Giveaway for a copy of Wicked Eddies started today! Enter here:
http://www.goodreads.com/giveaway/sho...

And, I've opened up my Q&A group to discussion about the release. Please join the group and post your question at:

Beth | 137 comments Whoo hoo! I'm excited. Kirkus Reviews came through for me again with another good review for one of my books. They gave away quite a bit of the plot of Wicked Eddies (release date May 8, the sequel to Deadly Currents) in the body of the review, so I'm not going to quote it all here, but here's the last line:

"Once again, Groundwater, mixing mystery with outdoor adventure, comes up with an excursion that will please most comers."
-- Kirkus Reviews, May 1, 2012

Beth | 137 comments May 8th is the official release date for Wicked Eddies (An RM Outdoor Adventures Mystery #2) by Beth Groundwater Wicked Eddies, but I know it's already on some bookstore shelves because some store owners have contacted me and asked me to sign stock. It's available for order on the Kindle, and the Nook page should be up on the release date or soon thereafter. I hope you'll all join me in celebrating the release by lifting a glass wherever you are!

PS. May 8th is also the date when my Goodreads Giveaway contest for a copy of the book ends, so if you haven't entered yet, do it now!

Beth | 137 comments The trade paperback and ebook editions of the second book in my Claire Hanover gift basket designer mystery series, To Hell in a Handbasket To Hell in a Handbasket by Beth Groundwater , will be released November 8th.

In the book, gift basket designer Claire Hanover is reluctantly enjoying a spring ski vacation with her family in Breckenridge, Colorado, when a bloodcurdling scream cuts the frigid air. Claire is appalled to find the sister of her daughter’s boyfriend dead on the slopes. Others assume the girl’s death was an accident, but Claire notices another pair of ski tracks veering dangerously into the victim’s path. To protect her daughter as incriminating clues surface, Claire unravels a chilling conspiracy.

To Hell in a Handbasket received some good reviews when it was first released in hardcover in 2009:

"Groundwater's second leaves the bunny slope behind, offering some genuine black-diamond thrills."
-- Kirkus Review, April 1, 2009

"How it all plays out makes for an engrossing and entertaining mystery that keeps you reading until the final page. Tightly plotted and very current, the story manages to keep you on the edge of your seat. Even though the physical violence is off screen, the tension comes from the potential danger to the characters you've met and come to be concerned about."
-- Gayle Surrette, Gumshoe Review, May 1, 2009

"Groundwater follows her Agatha-nominated debut with a solid mystery that should broaden her fan base."
-- Molly Weston, Meritorious Mysteries, May 5, 2009

"Don't mess with Mama Bear. Mothers will be able to identify with Claire Hanover, who goes into protective mode when her daughter is threatened in Beth Groundwater's To Hell in a Handbasket…Groundwater's book is a fast-paced family mystery, for readers who enjoy Diane Mott Davidson's books. The book has the same family feeling that Davidson's fans will appreciate."
-- Lesa Holstine, Lesa’s Book Critiques, May 24, 2009

I hope the new formats will mean that lots of new people will read it--and review it on Goodreads! ;-)

Beth | 137 comments Hi everyone,
I hope you'll join me in celebrating the release of the third book in my RM Outdoor Adventures series, Fatal Descent. Like the previous two books in the series, it has received good reviews, such as:

Groundwater’s third entry (after the Left Coast Crime Rocky Award finalist Wicked Eddies) is marked by an outdoorsy intensity and authentic sports chatter sure to resonate with Nevada Barr readers. Her methodical, gentle buildup mirrors the river’s course so that when the characters hit the rapids, life jackets are a must.
-- Library Journal, June 1, 2013

The tension runs high in Groundwater’s absorbing third RM Outdoor Adventures mystery … Scenic descriptions and folklore add atmosphere to a suspenseful tale.
