Maurizio Codogno (xmau) | 28 comments In Italy there are many people who have two surnames; for example the author of http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/10... is (name) Mariolina (surname) Ceriotti Migliarese. However, if I write Mariolina Ceriotti Migliarese as author the result is "Migliarese, Mariolina Ceriotti" instead of "Ceriotti Migliarese, Mariolina". As a workaround I entered "Mariolina Ceriotti-Migliarese", but this is not really correct. What should I write?

Moloch | 2804 comments I already pointed out this bug twice, http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/4... and http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/4...

This should be implemented, because the actual system gives wrong data and alphabetical listing.

Let's hope it's fixed soon.

Speriamo bene

You should enter the author's name so that it shows correctly on their author profile and the book pages. This way new books which are added with the correct author name will be associated with the existing books. It does mean that the author will not show correctly on your shelves, sadly.

Maurizio Codogno (xmau) | 28 comments @Cait: I can live with having the author name not shown correctly, but I still think there is a problem in the design of the database.
