Catherine Coulter

Catherine Coulter is the author of fifty novels, forty two of which have been New York Times bestsellers. She earned her reputation writing historical romances, but in recent years turned her hand to penning—with great success—contemporary suspense novels. Catherine grew up on a horse ranch in Texas. She graduated from the University of Texas and received her masters in early 19th century European History at Boston College. Prior to becoming a full-time writer, she worked on Wall Street as a speechwriter for a company president. Catherine lives in Marin County, California with her physician husband Anton Pogany.

I have not read anything by this author and was looking at what book i should read.Maybe i am a prud but the idea of reading a book that has rape scenes in it just don't turn my crank! Is there any books that has no or hardly any rape in it? Some books in the Cove series seem ok but don't know.Any help would be appeciated!

I'm in, and I'm a B. I'll have to see which of her contemporaries are available from the library. I've read the entire FBI series, but I know there are others available that I haven't read yet.

@ Michelle: Her historicals have a pretty bad reputation for cruel heroes, and some have rape scenes in them - I personally don't like her historicals for just that reason. I've never seen any of that in the contemporaries that I've read though, so I'm sure The Cove would be fine.

I have never read this author either, but I googled your question and it looks like you should avoid Rosehaven, The Rebel Bride, Warrior's Song, and Devil's Embrace.

The Deception, Night Shadow, Mad Jack and the The Scottish Bride seem safe.

The story was ok. I just did not feel like the book moved well. I am use to my Murder books really driving the story.

Just checked my library and it seems that they have 38 titles by her on their shelves with a great many more available via ILL. I'll pick up a couple of books next week when I head out there.

I'm not one for the FBI/Crime sort of books while I love the historical romance genre. Any recommendations where I should start? Here's what's available at my library.
