Ann (annrumsey) | 14407 comments Thanks Cheryl! Lots of tempting books on the way. I am requesting print versions this time around for most of these at the library, not many on order yet in audio copies, and I'll still be listening to my backlog for weeks! ;) .

Merrilee in AZ | 1116 comments I was on Butcher's site and he said the book just wasn't ready and he wanted it to be a better book then it was currently

message 12: by Ann (last edited Feb 21, 2011 10:53PM) (new)

Ann (annrumsey) | 14407 comments Thanks Merrilee! That sounds like a reasonable stance if he wasn't completely pleased with it. Of course I am so woefully behind in the series I am not ready for it anyway unlike Melodie!

Dawn | 1270 comments Has anyone read Brett Battles, The Silencer yet - its only out on Kindle? I loved his first two books, The Cleaner and Deceived, but thought Shadow of Betrayal wasn't quite as compelling. Hoping this one is back on track.

message 16: by Ann (last edited Mar 27, 2011 08:50PM) (new)

Ann (annrumsey) | 14407 comments Dawn: I enjoyed The Cleaner but haven't read the others. Interesting that The Silencer was on Kindle only first.

Cheryl | 547 comments I put this double list up in late February because I knew I would not be home in late March to do a complete April list. I do have this link which may add to it.

From Publishers Weekly
In this experimental California improv, Lutz (The Spellman Files) writes odd-numbered chapters and footnoted barbs directed at her coauthor and ex-boyfriend, poet Hayward, whose even-numbered chapters and stiletto-sharp ripostes add a freaky dimension to the collaboration. Grown siblings Lacey and Paul Hansen are scratching out a precarious living from a Northern California clandestine marijuana operation when a reeking headless human body turns up in their backyard, eventually identified as Hart Drexel, detecting barista Lacey's former lover. Because Lutz and Hayward agreed not to discuss or to undo a plot development the other had produced, they create a jittery black-comic narrative complicated by inter-author tensions unveiled in memos exchanged at the end of each chapter. Shifty secondary characters, some charming, some odious, pop in and out of the resulting dizzying plot that comes off like a trendy Left Coast restaurant mélange—daringly composed, exotic to contemplate. Barry (barrypz) | 2997 comments Borders cancelled my order for the new Boston Teran book, Gardens of Grief. It had been delayed to April 1, but now I am not even sure there is a new Boston Teran book. His website still says it will be out in 2010, when I first ordered it.
Then, as if life could not get any worse, BAMM does not recognize the ISBN or anything else for the new David Hosp book, Next of Kin.

On a positive note, Lincoln Lawyer, the movie, was great!

message 20: by Ann (new)

Ann (annrumsey) | 14407 comments Barry:
That is a string of bad luck (for the authors too probably) Hope they work it out and get published.
Yes! I agree, The Lincoln Lawyer was a great movie!
Looking to see what Amazon had to "say" on the upcoming books that are MIA - I found this interesting about David Hosp - I didn't know this:
About the Author
David Hosp is a trial lawyer who spends a portion of his time working pro bono on behalf of wrongly convicted individuals. He finds time to write his novels on his daily commute by boat across Boston harbour.
