Two of my own:

I totally disagree!!!

I don't know... They take you somewhere else, you don't really have to wish you're somewhere else though.

Sammy (IreneAdler) | 1616 comments Well, that's just Mark Twain's opinion. Someone told me what the Hunger Games series was about.... I would definitely not want to be there!

Sorry to interrupt your conversation. I think we should read the Hunger Games in this group 'cause I haven't read them.

Connor (connork) Didn't he write The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy?

message 27: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (IreneAdler) | 1616 comments "A towel, [The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy] says, is about the most massively useful thing an interstellar hitchhiker can have. Partly it has great practical value. You can wrap it around you for warmth as you bound across the cold moons of Jaglan Beta; you can lie on it on the brilliant marble-sanded beaches of Santraginus V, inhaling the heady sea vapors; you can sleep under it beneath the stars which shine so redly on the desert world of Kakrafoon; use it to sail a miniraft down the slow heavy River Moth; wet it for use in hand-to-hand-combat; wrap it round your head to ward off noxious fumes or avoid the gaze of the Ravenous Bugblatter Beast of Traal (such a mind-boggingly stupid animal, it assumes that if you can't see it, it can't see you); you can wave your towel in emergencies as a distress signal, and of course dry yourself off with it if it still seems to be clean enough"
— Douglas Adams (The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy)

Sammy (IreneAdler) | 1616 comments "Forty-Two."
Douglas Adams

message 42: by [deleted user] (new)

whats that for?

message 43: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (IreneAdler) | 1616 comments Albert Einstein had this theory that time travel is actually possible... It's kinda hard to explain why.

message 44: by [deleted user] (new)

yeah. if you start in one time zone and go fast enough in the right direction you'll go back a little bit in time.

message 45: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (IreneAdler) | 1616 comments Oops I thought I was in the chat discussion. When I said that I was referring to the theory of Relativity. The reason for Forty-Two was that in The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy they were trying to figure out the answer to the universe ao they asked the smartest computer in the universe and after thinking about it for like 5000 years it came up with the answer and it said it was 42.

message 46: by [deleted user] (new)

not worth waiting 5000 years is it?

message 47: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (IreneAdler) | 1616 comments Nope, because then they tried to figure out what it meant by finding the question that goes along with it. They found out the question was "What do you get when you multiply six times nine?"

message 48: by [deleted user] (new)

6 times 9 isn't 42! its 54.

message 49: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (IreneAdler) | 1616 comments That's why it was so dissapointing.

message 50: by [deleted user] (new)

That is a stupid smartest computer in the universe.
