Thankie! :)

message 7: by Connor (new)

Connor (connork) You guys are quite productive :D I think we should have polls to vote for books so that the members who don't discuss could vote.

Sevania (sevthedev) | 387 comments Mod

message 9: by [deleted user] (new)

We should!

message 10: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (IreneAdler) | 1616 comments I vote for Sherlock Holmes!!! (The first one)

message 11: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (IreneAdler) | 1616 comments The first one is called A Study In Scarlet.

message 12: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (IreneAdler) | 1616 comments It was actually better than the 2009 Sherlock Holmes movie!

message 13: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (IreneAdler) | 1616 comments Yes, yes it is :)

message 14: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (IreneAdler) | 1616 comments OKAY. I have another suggestion. The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy by Douglas Adams. It is literally one of the funniest books I have ever read in my short life. It's a humor/science fiction book about this guy named Arthur Dent whose friend is actually an alien. Then the earth gets blown up by some other aliens but Arthur and Ford escape and then have to hitchhike across the universe with Ford's cousin, Zaphod Beeblebrox and this other person named Trillian. It's completely random and hilarious.

message 15: by Connor (new)

Connor (connork) I have thought about reading it recently. I saw the movie in theaters but I don't remember anything about it except for the white robot thing.

message 16: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (IreneAdler) | 1616 comments Oh the white robot thing was Marvin the depressed robot.

message 17: by Connor (new)

Connor (connork) Yeah! that's right.

message 18: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (IreneAdler) | 1616 comments And his voice was done by the same guy who plays Snape in the Harry Potter movies! :)

message 34: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (IreneAdler) | 1616 comments This is why I want a kindle... So I can just instantly download books from amazon! Also, it saves paper :)

message 35: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (IreneAdler) | 1616 comments It's black and white, but Barnes and Noble has a similar ebook called a nook and it's in color.

message 36: by [deleted user] (new)

I think we should read Watership Down for April.

message 37: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (IreneAdler) | 1616 comments It sound like a good read... Hey, I like your new profile pic!

message 38: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (IreneAdler) | 1616 comments I think the group's profile pic should be of whatever book we are reading for that month!

message 39: by [deleted user] (new)

thats a good idea! I didn't find The Comet's Curse at the library yesterday. :(

message 40: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (IreneAdler) | 1616 comments That's one of my absolute favorite books!

message 41: by Connor (new)

Connor (connork) Mine is The Lord of the Rings.

message 42: by Connor (new)

Connor (connork) It's about a Dark Lord who creates a ring in a volcano. The volcano, Mt. Doom, is located in Mordor. Mordor is Where the dark lord Sauron rules. He decides to take over the world, gets the ring cut off his finger and the King of Gondor takes it. With the ring you turn invisible. The ring made him want it and it became precious to him. He gets ambushed by orcs and the ring betrays him and falls off his finger and gets killed. Gollum finds it a thousand years later and kept him alive for six-hundred years until he lost it. Then a Hobbit (they're really short people-like creatures) comes to his cave and finds it and lives to be a hundred and eleven when the Wizard, Gandalf MAKES him give it to his nephew Frodo.

Then the story starts. Frodo has to destroy the ring.

Connor (connork) He can't take the shape of a man without his ring because his life force is bound to the ring. About a thousand years later, he takes the shape of a huge eye "wreathed in flame" and sits on top of the tower he created. He used the ring to create the tower.

message 44: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (IreneAdler) | 1616 comments Go Frodo!
