As Romeo was confessing his love of Rosaline to Benvolio, I found myself wondering if Romeo ever confessed it to Rosaline herself. How do you think the story would be different if Rosaline knew about Romeo's feelings toward her. Would she love him back but still become a nun? Would she elope with him? What do you think?

Noga | 10 comments Now that you brought it up, I am wondering too if she knows how Romeo feels about her. I think that her family, just like the Capulets and Montagues, is very strict and she probably wouldn't have a big say in her actions anyway meaning she'd still become a nun

Justin G | 5 comments I agree with Joelle on the fact that if indeed Romeo really wanted and needed Rosaline he would have told her his feeling and would have tried to contradict her vows to Chastity. However, he did not, maybe this is a sign from Shakespeare that Rosaline was never the one for him. There were better things in store.
