Brian Jacques who wrote the Redwall series (YA/Children. Not strictly fairy tale, but with some motifs) died on the 5th of a heart attack.

I really recommend his early Redwall books.

Oh no! How sad! My son was a huge fan all through his childhood and then we got to see Jaques in person back in 2007, I think it was, when my son was in high school. If I can figure out how to upload videos onto this group, I'll do it. I got him on tape reading the description of that rat character from the first book -- it was hilarious!
