Kourtni (kourkyloo) | 602 comments Catie- The Book Thief made me cry too. Maybe more than a few times. So sad.

message 6402: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) I boo-hooed my eyes out in Monsters of Men, and pretty hard in A Knife of Never Letting Go.

Ah, who am I kidding. A good majority of books I read recently made me shed a tear or two. The two mentioned above opened the floodgates though.

message 6403: by Kurukka (new)

Kurukka If only they would make movies from the Chaos Walking trilogy instead of producing shit like Disaster Movie and basically all of Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer's films.

message 6404: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) The Chaos Walking books would be a very intense movie. I think it's just long enough for a good 3 hour movie though.

Cassi, I believe this one is planned as a trilogy, but I can't remember where I read that or if its reliable.

message 6407: by Stormi (StormReads) (new)

Stormi (StormReads) (bmreviewsohmy) I got my books in the mail today!!!! I am so tempted to start Faefever right now! But I am reading Timeless though its a bit slow. :( So that makes it even more tempting to read Faefever...LOL

Stephanie (Bookfever) (bookfever) I'm starting Kisses from Hell by Kristin Cast

Awesomevegan (AKA JenReads) (awesomevegan) | 325 comments Kat (LvnEvryMin) wrote: "Starting Delirium Delirium (Delirium, #1) by Lauren Oliver"

Reading it now... about half way and it is sooo good so far. :)

Sara (rose081900) | 177 comments I'm reading Angelfire (Angelfire, #1) by Courtney Allison Moulton , I've heard good things about it and man I need something to hold my attention.

I must stop requesting books on Netgalley, this is becoming an addiction I can't stop!!!!!!

message 6411: by Jenn (new)

Jenn Just finished Shadowfever (Fever, #5) by Karen Marie Moning and loved it! Now i dont know what to read lol Was thinking either the Hex Hall series or City of Bones
any suggestions??

message 6412: by MD (new)

MD (elle213) | 3 comments I'm starting Smiles to Go by Jerry Spinelli and so far it's pretty cute! I'm sure that some of my 6th graders will love this one!

message 6413: by Jason (new)

Jason Kurtz (jasongkurtz) Just finished True Grit (oh yeah, it is PERFECT for YA) and also The Curse of the Wendigo by Rick Yancey; both were excellent. I am going to attempt something a little less literary now, Exit Here. I have been putting it off for awhile, and I am going to bite the bullet...

message 6414: by Monica (new)

Monica (nutz4reading) | 33 comments I am currently reading To Hold the Crown The Story of King Henry VII and Elizabeth of York (Tudor Saga, #1) by Jean Plaidy and will be starting my ER book from LT Aftermath by Tracy Brown

Well nothing could compete with Shadowfever(Barrons) for a day or so after I read it lol! :D
Hex Hall and City of Bones are both good! I was surprised by how nicely written Hex Hall was when I read it. On the other hand, City of Bones seem to be more popular, albeit not as nicely written but its quite addicting!

message 6416: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) It took me a long time to pick up a book after Shadowfever. AND I still find myself thinking about it all the time.

message 6417: by Jenn (new)

Jenn I know i LOVED BARRONS! usually i start a new book right away but i am stuck on what to read cause i have shadowfever on the brain. I want to read nightshade but dont want to pay 10.99 for a kindle book. i have a few books i want to read just dont know.. lol

message 6418: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) I hate spending that much on a Kindle book, but sometimes having that one click instant graitification suckers me, lol. I got Nightshade for my Kindle.

message 6419: by Lloyd (new)

Lloyd | 415 comments Sara wrote: "I must stop requesting books on Netgalley, this is becoming an addiction I can't stop!!!..."

I checked out the site and I had to just close the window. I've already got books piled up to the ceiling and I seriously have a hard time saying no to books. I was at the library last night with my son and found the strength to put down two books I was going to check out...but realized "when on Earth will I have time to read these?!" :P

message 6420: by Jenn (new)

Jenn I know the one click is a killer! Was it worth the 10.99? i am so tempted...

message 6421: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Jenn it is worth it not to have to hold that monster of a book! My hand cramped up holding that thing!

message 6422: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) I honestly haven't read it yet (I guess 'Instant Gratification' isn't as instant as I thought, haha), something that I thought looked better has always come up. I'll read it before the end of this month.

It's got decent reviews.

message 6423: by Jenn (new)

Jenn OK i am going to do it! For V-day hubby got me Kindle gift card i know it is not a romantic gift but he knew it was something i would love and use so i am gonna splurge on that and Hex Hall
Thanks for the push hehe!

message 6424: by Cheryl (new)

Cheryl Landmark (clandmark) | 148 comments I am now reading The Wizard Heir by Cinda Williams Chima. Just started it yesterday and already I'm almost halfway through. That's how good it is.

Hex Hall is so worth the splurge! Almost time for Demonglass!!! (And I'll probably ACTUALLY buy a hardcover copy of the book so it'll match my other one. I really like the Hex Hall cover--fits the book so well)

message 6426: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Haha, we're way past romantic V-Day gifts. I got a 4gig Sansa Clip+. Love it.

My Christmas and birthday this year were mostly about Amazon gift cards...and I'm totally okay with that! Of course, most of it was spent on my wife's birthday gifts, but I still got to download four or five books for myself. LOVE the gift cards!!!

message 6428: by Lloyd (new)

Lloyd | 415 comments Oh...and since I can't read The Lost Hero (The Heroes of Olympus, #1) by Rick Riordan in the dark, I found myself starting Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta and am now three chapters in. Not entirely sure what's going on yet, but am confident that I will enjoy it! (Don't tell me!) :P

message 6429: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) It's pretty confusing in the beginning, but MORE then worth it.

message 6430: by Kourtni (new)

Kourtni (kourkyloo) | 602 comments Yay for The Lost Hero and Jellicoe!!

I've read the first two books and loved them. I found the first one very sad, but the second - no tissues needed. They were both fantastic though and I'm looking to Monsters of Men. Had to give it to a student who was DYING to finish the series.

message 6432: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Monsters of Men and Jellicoe Road were two of my favorites (if not favorites) last year.

message 6433: by Rhonda (new)

Rhonda Just put Jellicoe Road on my TR list. :) Thanks for the recommendation.

Brittany (finally graduated and can once again read for fun) | 1328 comments I picked up Wildwood Dancing on audio for my Utah roadtrip tomorrow. Hopefully it will make the time pass more quickly and help me forget that I'm not feeling well.

The down-side... my library only had it in CD form so I can only listen to it in the car. Oh well, that's the point of a roadtrip I guess. Plenty of time in the car.

message 6436: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca (bexsi) I have finished The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger The Time Traveler's Wife This is an exceptional book, I loved it from beginning to end. A beautiful love story with an original concept. It's deeply moving, funny, sad, intelligent and original. 5 Stars
Fool by Christopher Moore Fool This is the second Christopher Moore book I have read and TBH it has put me of starting another for a while. 3 Stars
Mockingjay (The Hunger Games, #3) by Suzanne Collins Mockingjay I really enjoyed the first two books, they were fantastic. This book felt rushed especially towards the end. It might not be as good as the others but it is still a fabulous read. 4 Stars
Wake (Dream Catcher, #1) by Lisa McMann Wake a quick and easy read 4 Stars
and I have started Beauty A Retelling of the Story of Beauty and the Beast. Robin McKinley by Robin McKinley Beauty: A Retelling of the Story of Beauty and the Beast. Robin McKinley

message 6437: by Sara (new)

Sara (rose081900) | 177 comments Rebecca- I loved The Time Traveler's Wife, it was a fantastic book. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I haven't read Mockingjay yet, even though I've had it since it came out last year, tried reading it when I first got it and just couldn't get into it.

message 6438: by Sara (new)

Sara (rose081900) | 177 comments I'm going to have to read this Hex Halls series, it sounds so interesting, BUT I should get through all the books already on my TR list, LOL.

Cassi aka Snow White Haggard | 2261 comments Sara wrote: "I'm going to have to read this Hex Halls series, it sounds so interesting, BUT I should get through all the books already on my TR list, LOL."

I'm a bit of Hex Hall cheerleader! Do it do it do it!

Brittany (finally graduated and can once again read for fun) | 1328 comments Rebecca, what was your first Christopher Moore novel? I haven't read Fool yet, but I've read 4 of his books and I love them! (That being said, I can only take them in small doses, definitely not one after the other) It definitely strikes a specific type of humor. I very warped and twisted sense of humor, but I love it.

I plan on reading it, I'll be reading probably forever since my TR list keeps getting longer and longer

message 6442: by Heidi (new)

I agree, it's a bit difficult to keep up with, especially with the back and forth it did......but overall the story is really good if you can see past the whiplashing it may give you LOL.

Cassie! I'll be part of your Hex Hall cheer squad lol! I can't wait for Demonglass, I'm not sure if the bookstores will have it by release date, and its not available on Kindle for Asia :(

I'm planning on asking the local Books-A-Million then deciding what to do from there. I need more fun kinda-silly at times but GREAT books in my life.

Why aren't there more books with a little bit of silly in them?

message 6448: by Laraine (new)

Laraine (lala26) | 121 comments Yeah I know what you mean. :) You might want to try Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins ! It's quirky, funny, cozy and romantic all rolled in one! Also, Vampire Crush by A. M. Robinson if you're into the paranormal stuff. It doesn't take itself too seriously and I found myself giggling and laughing through the book because of all the pop culture references.

Sandra (Waiting For Wentworth) (waitingforwentworth) | 10 comments Thank you to whoever suggested Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins I borrowed it from my library, and once I started reading, I couldn't put it down. I actually read an entire book in one day! I haven't done that in a really long time. I usually take a week or so to read a book. I have no idea what book to read next...

message 6450: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Anna and the French Kiss was wonderful. My hardback copy just came a couple days ago and I had to open it and read a couple quotes through out.
