Historical Fiction | 133 comments According to one of the previous threads questions about the movie are generally deleted.

Should these be deleted?

Lobstergirl Thanks.

Alicia | 8 comments Questions about music? http://www.goodreads.com/trivia/detai...

Or are we considering Dylan poetry?

I have no opinion on this, as the specific example does seem awfully poetry-like to me, and surely appears in multiple books.

message 10: by Alicia (new)

Alicia | 8 comments Ok, cool. It's a fun question, I just wasn't sure if it was "literary" focused. We'll just leave it.

message 11: by Shay (new)

Shay | 179 comments In a technical sense, those lyrics were probably published in this book: Lyrics: 1962-2001 by Bob Dylan.

The character doesn't exist in the book as well?

message 22: by Lobstergirl (new)

Lobstergirl She does; I don't know if she's precisely the same as portrayed in the movie, though.

Nonetheless, if reading the book without seeing the movie (and I have done neither) gives enough information to answer the question, I don't see a problem.

message 24: by Lobstergirl (new)

Lobstergirl Right, I don't see a problem if the movie follows the book exactly. I just don't know if it does and I haven't been able to find out by googling. If you read the book and wanted to write a question about that character, why would you phrase it as a movie question? That suggested to me that the character in the movie is different from the same character in the book.

Unless someone with more knowledge about the book/movie weighs in, I guess we won't know.

Yay, I have arrived.

In the book, as far as I can remember, Lulu is NOT a prostitute. 'And how tired he was of the rustic and unimaginative devotion of Lulu Bains! If she lisped "Oh, Elmer, you are so strong!" just once more, he'd have to clout her!'

The film seemed to be built around the Lulu/prostitute character. Wikipedia probably says it best: "The movie presents fewer than 100 pages of the novel, deleting many characters and fundamentally changing the character and actions of female evangelist Sharon Falconer, played by Simmons."

So my opinion would be that it is a movie question and not a book question.

Banjomike | 5530 comments #36 and #37. I notice that the number of takers is now only 5, poss reset when being removed from quiz. Is that low enough to delete?

Actually, I don't know if it was the reduced number, or the fact that I have different abilities.

message 42: by Lobstergirl (new)

Lobstergirl Too movie-oriented, yes? It requires you to have seen the movies listed.
