Erich | 38 comments Hi, I'm holding in my hands Une vie pour troie which is French and means "A life for Troy". It says it has been translated from English, but no original title is mentioned. Knowing Heinrich Schliemann's story, even though German, it's not unusual at all to see he wrote this book in English. However, what's the original title?

If anyone has an English book by Schliemann, could you check whether the following contents match your copy and then give me that title? This would be awesome!

- First years and commercial carreer (1822-1866)
- First visits in Ithaca, Peloponesis and Troy (1868-1870)
- 5th year of works in Troy (1879)
- Exploration journeys to Troada (1881)
- 6th year of works in Troy (1882)

Cait (tigercait) | 5005 comments Bibliothèque nationale de France has it as "Trad. de l'autobiographie donnée en introd. de Ilios, the city and country of the Trojans", if that helps.

Erich | 38 comments Oh, I see, then it's just an introduction which turned into a full book. How interesting. And yes, that helped. Thanks.
