Aynge (ayngemac) | 1202 comments I have to admit that I like him a lot less than I used to. But I can still watch Midnight Run over and over again.

Raging Bull.

Michael Taxi Driver.

message 4: by Dr. Detroit (new)

Dr. Detroit | 6031 comments "Midnight Run" here as well.

message 5: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) The Deer Hunter.

message 6: by Mary (new)

Mary (madamefifi) What, no votes for Analyze This? Or Meet The Parents?

Poor Robert D. He must have a lot of bills to pay.

My favorite is Goodfellas, BTW.

Gotta admit; he was pretty good in both "Meet the Parents" and "Meet the Fockers."

Mary (madamefifi) Robert De Niro is like pizza--even when he's bad, he's still pretty good.

message 9: by Gatorman (new)

Gatorman Midnight Run, then Goodfellas.

message 10: by ms.petra (new)

ms.petra (mspetra) I love him. He was amazing as Jack Kevorkian in You Don't Know Jack. I also loved Cape Fear and Midnight Run.

Félix (habitseven) He was good in Awakenings, too, I thought.

Yes, that.

So glad it's not just me."

Or me!

message 14: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) What?

message 15: by Phil (new)

Phil | 11694 comments The three of us don't care for Bob, or for the type of project he typically does.

message 16: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Oh.

message 17: by Janice (new)

Janice (jamasc) Loved him in Flawless.

Michael King Dinösaur wrote: "King of Comedy. Totally underrated Scorsese movie."

I agree. Because Jerry Lewis = Genius.

Gus Sanchez (gussanchez) Clark wrote, "

No he wasn't, Clark. What you saw there is DeNiro resorting to self-parody, mocking his tightly-wound tough guy for a few cheap laughs, and that's been his modus operandi since Goodfellas. He's basically given up being relevant, which is a damned shame.

On the other hand, I'll give him credit for whoring himself out on such shitty films, because he's parlayed what he's earn for being a film whore into funding the Tribeca Film Festival, a great springboard for aspiring filmmakers.

message 20: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 13815 comments He was hilarious in last week's 30 Rock.

message 21: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) I must have missed that one.

message 22: by Arminius (new)

Arminius Sally wrote: "Raging Bull."

I second Raging Bull.

message 23: by Ken (new)

Ken (playjerist) | 721 comments I think his performance in NEW YORK, NEW YORK probably is my favorite. It’s another Scorsese film, like King of Comedy and Age of Innocence, generally underrated.

message 24: by Jeffrey (new)

Jeffrey (jwhitsitt) Another for Raging Bull

message 25: by Lori (new)

Lori (barfield) | 53 comments I like Casino, but he's kind of like the Goodfellas character in it. But This Boys Life was a really good movie. I put it at number 1.

message 26: by Michael (new)

Michael I'm surprised there aren't more votes for Taxi Driver. If this thead was "What are Your Two Favorite Robert De Niro Movies?" would T.D. have gotten any votes?

message 27: by Sally, la reina (new)

Sally (mrsnolte) | 17346 comments Mod
No.that movie makes me sad.

message 28: by Lori (new)

Lori (barfield) | 53 comments Very :-(

message 29: by Aynge (new)

Aynge (ayngemac) | 1202 comments Taxi Driver was so depressing.

message 30: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) So very.

message 31: by Michael (new)

Michael There are rumors of a sequel.
