Andy (andyly) | 1 comments Hi All,

Just joined this site and I'm pleased to find a local book group here.

I am also from La Mesa and my Kindle 3 will be arriving this afternoon. I can't wait to get my hands on it and load it up with books.

Can you guys recommend a few good reads? I love books like The Count of Monte Cristo, or The Alchemist.

Andy

Pamela (pamela4444) | 2 comments Hi Andy, I'm next door in Lemon Grove (unfortunately.) I guess you'd like:
Accidental Millionaire/Fong (photographer's memoir, really funny)
Where the Red Fern Grows/Rawls(even adults love this)
Meeting God behind Enemy Lines/Watkins(navy SEAL)
Case Files of the Tracker/Brown(best tracker ever!)
The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time(excellent, funny, interesting! About an autistic kid in his teens.)
They'd probably have these in the library.

Jean | 4 comments I also live in La Mesa and am a dog lover. I recommend A Dog's Purpose. It's light reading but contains a different approach than I've read before.
