Stacy-Deanne Stacy-Deanne (wwwgoodreadscomstacydeanne) Hi All,

Bad, bad news for the industry.

Don't know if you guys have seen these articles yet. I apologize if someone has already posted the news. I didn't see it if so.

Yeah, folks are really expecting Borders to be gone real real soon, esp after they stopped payment. And then B&N may follow next. Teleread had a great article and some comments on how this economy can't handle two superstores. One corporate publisher (that I know of) already stopped shipment of their books and I imagine more will follow. Doesn't bode well at all.

That would suck if they both went under. Even though I buy a lot of books online, I love to hang out and browse at B&N and Borders, and I still buy there.

Freaking economy!

I hope they don't close Books A Million. That's a relaxing place to me. Whenever I go there, I make myself comfortable and read.
