Trisha Wow! I cannot even believe how many books I have on my shelves that I have not read yet! This is crazy! How on earth did I amass so many books! The funny thing is that I read constantly, so I am not sure how I have so many unread books?? I think that for every book I sell to the used book store, I buy 10 more in its place. Hahaha! All right, apparently I have a lot of reading to do this year. We will see how many books I can get through, but I suspect that this challenge may just carry into next year as well. I have shown incredible will power though, by not purchasin a single book throughout January. We will see how long I can resist the temptation to buy one....

Ivy (luvbug) I loved the Secret Garden when I read it years ago...it was a really good book. I read it with my daughter who had to read it for her English class. We both had a great time reading this one. How did you like it???

message 21: by Trisha (new)

Trisha I really liked it! I have the movie with Maggie Smith in it, and I kept imagining the characters from the movie. I was actually surprised that the film kept so close to the book, even with the dialogue!

Trisha On to March! Books I have finished:

message 23: by Trisha (new)

Trisha Oh man, did I slack off this month!! All I read was: "Where Angels Fear to Tread" and "Eragon". Sadly, "Eragon" wasn't even from my books shelf! *sigh*. Looks like I have some catching up to do! Also, my bookshelves, got all jumbled around, so my books are no longer in the order that I had them listed. Better hurry up and read so that I don't have to sort through so many books. I think that I will create a new list for June, since that will be the halfway point, and I will take off all the ones that I have finished, that should make the list a lot shorter.

message 24: by Trisha (new)

Trisha For April, I finished:
"The Castle Of Otronto" - Horace Walpole
"Around the WOrld in 80 Days" - Jules Verne

Man, I'd better pick up the pace or I am never going to finish these shelves...

message 26: by Trisha (new)

Trisha There is my revised list for the summer. I deleted all of the books that I have finished so far this year. Whew! It looks like I barely read anything!! All right, time to get serious and really crack down on these shelves. I will keep crossing them off as I go, and then in September, I will delete all the finished books again and see what is left for the last chunk of the year. Hopefully the list will look a little....shorter! Hahaha!

message 27: by Trisha (new)

Trisha Books finished in May:
"Little Princes: One Man's Promise to Bring Home the Lost Children of Nepal" - Connor Grennan (not from my shelves)

message 28: by Trisha (new)

Trisha May:
Plain Truth- Jodi Picoult

message 29: by Trisha (new)

Trisha May:
"The Secret Life of Bees"
Great book.....just not from my shelf! What's wrong with me! I just can't help myself when I take my munchkins to the library!!

Ann A (readerann) | 362 comments Ah, the library... I have a great one 5 minutes away, and I just can't resist it. I'm fascinated to see the progress with your shelves. I need to do something similar with the many books I own but haven't read (I can't even guess, but I'd say it's probably 200-300 - no correspondence with my TBR list!) It's too overwhelming to organize at the moment. Maybe by the beginning of next year?!

Trisha As you can see by my ridiculously long list, I probably will be continuing this goal next year! Hahaha! At this point, I'm just trying to make a dent. :-)

"Eat, Pray, Love" - Melissa Gilbert
"The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" - Fitzgerald
"The Scarlet Pimpernel" - Orczy
