We are embarking for Eritrea tomorrow! Let's share our music love and knowledge.

here are a few links to get us started.

a belgian site tell us some basic things about different musical forms, traditional instruments, and famous singers/musicians in eritrea...if you click on the singers' names, you can watch youtube videos of them performing and speaking about their work. not everything is in english. sorry!

Wikipedia has a brief (but not too short article about eritrean music, both traditional and popular.

the quality of this video isn't great, but i thought maybe we should have some traditional dancing.

oh, this one is a little better and shows some of that awesome shoulder movement of Tigrinya dancing.

and since we learned during our search for books to select from that half of Eritrea is composed of Arabic-speakers, here is some Arabic music from Eritrea.
