Ok below is the list. I will leave voting open until Sunday night. I will announce our first book on Monday. Just copy, paste and put in your own ranking.

All of the book suggestions are great. Some of them I have read before, so those tended to fall down on my list. Can't wait to see what book we will be reading.

Here are my rankings:
9 The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn
4 Moby Dick
5 Madame Bovary
1 Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde
12 Siddhartha
10 On the Road
13 The Fountainhead
11 The Devil in White City
6 The Time Traveler's Wife
2 Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West
7 Reading Lolita in Tehran: A Memoir in Books
8 The Thin Man
3 Rosemary's Baby

Sarah (songgirl7) 1. The Fountainhead
2. The Time Traveler's Wife
3. Moby Dick
4. Madame Bovary
5. The Thin Man
6. On the Road
7. Reading Lolita in Tehran: A Memoir in Books
8. Rosemary's Baby
9. The Devil in White City
10. Siddhartha

These I have read already, so I'm not including them in my ranking as it doesn't make any difference to me when the group picks them:

Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West - I hated this book. Love the musical. But the book was just too bizarre for me.

Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde - This is really good. It's not what you'd expect. It isn't really a horror story so much as a mystery.

The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn - Love it.

Hmm... Weird... those three books are also musicals... Wicked, Jekyll/Hyde, and Big River.

Meghan Because I'm anal and prefer things in numerical order:

1 Moby Dick
2 Madame Bovary
3 Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde
4 The Fountainhead
5 The Devil in White City
6 The Time Traveler's Wife
7 The Thin Man
8 Rosemary's Baby

I've read these books (listed in no particular order), so I don't mind if these get chosen (made a comment about each):
1. Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West - I really enjoyed this book but nothing like the musical. MUCH darker but I love the concept that that she is totally misunderstood.
2. Siddhartha - Very, very short. Interesting philosophy.
3. Reading Lolita in Tehran: A Memoir in Books - Truly one of the best books I've ever read. I think it's a great one for book clubs because that's what it deals with (book discussions), but under totally different circumstances (censorship to the highest degree). The books referred to are classics and should be read as well.
4. On the Road - One of the hardest books I've read, but a good one in understanding the whole boys on a road trip need thing.
5. The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn - I prefer this over Tom Sawyer. Huck just seems nicer.

Um, I was just noticing that The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde is really VERY short... so if it is chosen, perhaps we could have a second to accompany it... Also because I got so excited that I picked it up today and will finish it in the next hour. LOL
