That sounds reasonable.
I'd use the full (all four names) name for the bio, and list it on each profile, plus links to the other profiles.
You cannot use the photo from the obit without permission.

I wanted to combine two entries of the book The Tenth Month by Laura Z. Hobson but could not because one entry had the author listed as Laura Keane Zametkin Hobson (which is her full name) and the other has the author listed as Laura Z. Hobson (which is the name she published under).http://www.goodreads.com/book/combine...

If in doubt, usually the name on the cover takes precedence so I'd change the "Laura Keane Zametkin Hobson" profil to her publishing name, you can always add her full name to her profile if isn't in there, and then combine the books.

These books are published under 'Geoffrey Dutton':

His complete name is 'Geoffrey John Fraser Dutton' but to my knowledge he published no books under this name.
What i am wanting to do is to have two author names listed for each book (where necessary), first the name used on the book cover and then secondly 'Geoffrey Fraser Dutton' to group them all together. Any comments on this plan?
The additional issue is that there is another author published under the name Geoffrey Dutton.
For an author's biography there is an obituary in the Lancet (he was also a renown scientifically published biochemist) that would serve as a good source of information. The obituary is a reference that list his books. I am wondering about the photograph there, reluctant because of copyright infringement and ownership. What name is best to use on the biography?
Thanks,
