I thought it was amazing! A great summer read for sure. I haven't picked up the last book in the series yet because it's not at my local library. I'm sure I'll get it soon though!

I thin they are all hoping for a tv show deal or a movie deal, like JK rowling, C. Harris, or Stephanie meyer...gosh actually alot of them are going to TV or Movies...movie writers are gonna be outta luck here pretty soon, Hollywood is just gonna let the authors turn all their books/series into movies/TV shows! As a book fan, though I don't mind it, since we get a longer story...

message 212: by Joy (new)

Joy | 1116 comments But in a way it ticks me off! Us book readers had a good thing, and now those people who don't read get to enjoy our stories! Why don't they just pick up a book?! I STILL have yet to see "True Blood" or "Castle" or that one by Tess whatever her name is...I'd rather read the books!!

message 213: by Charleen (new)

Charleen (charleenlynette) | 1688 comments Actually Castle (which I loved, though I've only seen the first season so far) is sort of the opposite. It was an original show, and the books -- published under the name of the main character -- came later.

message 214: by Stacie (new)

Stacie Vetsch I actually like both the books and the TV show of "True Blood", but the "Castle" book, in my opinion, was not any good. I preferred to watch the TV show which was developed before the books.

The Lying Game is a new show on ABC Family based on the books by Sara Shepard. I have to admit I was disappointed with the premiere because it was nowhere near the storyline of the book, but it was still an okay show.

I think at times movies or tv shows can be a great addition to a book, but only if it is done right. There are some that should have just been books or should have just been tv shows.

I'm a huge Castle fan too!

Stacie Vetsch 142. Before I Die
Before I Die by Jenny Downham

143. Wintergirls
Wintergirls by Laurie Halse Anderson

Both of these books were heartbreaking in their own way. Wintergirls deals with eating disorders and suicide. Before I Die discusses a young girl with cancer who has no option but to face death head on.

how was this one? I have seen this a few times and thought about reading...

message 221: by Stacie (new)

Stacie Vetsch Tugce - We'll Always Have Summer was a great book, but I was so frustrated throughout it trying to figure out what was going to happen.

Going Too Far was a good book too. It wasn't what I had expected based on the cover, but it was still good. I think Jennifer Echols is a great writer!

The cover are for some of these YA books is just so fun!

message 227: by Stacie (new)

Stacie Vetsch @Amy J. - I really liked it. I would have to say book #2 was the best, but overall the series was pretty good.

@Andrea - I know you're not supposed to judge a book by its cover, but I have to admit that is what usually attracts me to them!

I hope so! That's my goal, but I've slowed down quite a bit. I'm having trouble with some stupid final projects this semester, LOL. Hopefully *crosses fingers* I can get those done and focus on reading in December :)

For real...I don't think 200 is going to happen. I can't find a book that just hooks me back into reading. I've read 3 books since Nov 23rd, which is just sad for me. I need 15 more to hit 200, and there are only 19 days left :(

Only 15 more!!!! I gave up on 200 as I would have to ready 29 more...lol Even if I read every spare minute and listened to audio I would still be a dozen or so short...lol

message 237: by Stacie (new)

Stacie Vetsch I've given up on 200. I'm at 194 right now lol...6 in 2 days? I don't think that's possible!
