Paisley Stewart (paisleyswanstewart) | 57 comments I was just curious. I imagine that some of here, in addition to being POTO fans, might also 'gleeks.'

Although I have tried to like the show, I just can't seem to get into it. Mostly because I do not like that "poppish" style of singing. Especially when the female singers push their voices to make little flip in their vocals. Just annoys the hell out of me! So are some of you fans of Glee? I wonder if they will ever do a POTO themed show? What are your thoughts?

I have watched a couple of episodes, because I like Kristen Chenoweth (she was a guest star). I think that part of the reason I didn't get into it is that I'm almost 30 years past high school graduation and can no longer relate to teenage angst.

On the episodes I saw, I didn't notice anyone getting pitchy as you describe.

All in all, if I'm going to watch a cappella singers, I will be looking at "The Sing-Off." :-)

Paisley Stewart (paisleyswanstewart) | 57 comments It's not a pitch problem, Sharon. It's a singing style where there is a little "cry" sound at the beginning or end of a word. I hate it!

Oh yeah, "The Sing Off" is fantastic! I can't wait till tonight's episode! Who is your favorite group so far, Sharon?

I love Talk of the Town, but I suspect Committed will win (can't really say why, but that's what I think). I was surprised to note, given their history and weight in the a cappella world, that the Whiffenpoofs left me a little cold.

I predicted Nota's win at the beginning of the previous season -- and was right, LOL. Nota will be on the show this evening, and I'm really looking forward to it.

Paisley Stewart (paisleyswanstewart) | 57 comments I never heard of the show and just happened to stumble upon it Monday night. I used to sing in my high school's select A Capella group, so I love that style of singing. Hubby enjoyed the program too!

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish This thread is being moved to the All Things Phantom folder. That way it'll be easier for new members to find.

Ive never watched it. Even with all the rave reviews...and people talking about it..now if they did something with POTO..I might just tune in!

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish My daughter LOVES Glee, but in the beginning, it didn't sound like anything I'd be interested in, but apparently, I'm wrong!

Emily (toofondofbooks_) i love glee, but i don't really want a phantom themed show. no one has the range for it. i don't even think lea michele does, even though she's fantastic. they don't have opera voices, it'd be wrong.

I'm with you there, Emily Christine. The Rocky Horror episode wasn't bad, but Glee should stay away from POTO. While the cast has great voices, they don't have the right voices even if they had the range. And how would they get an episode out of it anyway? RHPS was easy to integrate, but POTO? I'm not so sure about that one.

Anna (SylviaGrant) GLEE DID PHANTOM????????

message 12: by Gemma (new)

Gemma | 277 comments Nope. Hypothetically, though, I wonder what it would be like if they did...but I have to say, part of me hopes the whole Phantom-themed episode remains hypothetical.

Anna (SylviaGrant) Thank goodnesss! I thought for a second that they did because that would be pure torture if they did.
