All Things Winter Challenge
I'm done!!!!Dina's All Things Winter Challenge
Duration: December 21, 2010 - March 20, 2011
Goal: Read 20 or more books that have a winter theme. The titles can have winter-related words, or the cover has a winter scene, or the book is set during and pertains to winter. As long as the book reminds me of winter, it's on!
20/20 completed
1. Destined to Last by Alissa Johnson (The story begins on a chilly winter day.) == 12/24
2. Club Shadowlands by Cherise Sinclair (The sex scenes left me cold, and cold reminds me of winter, LOL.) == 12/26
3. Jane and the Sneaky Dom by Hannah Murray (The heroine owns a bookstore, and reading books while curled up on the sofa is the best thing to do during the dark, biting chill of winter.) == 12/27
4. Fragile by Lisa Unger (The story takes place during the winter.) == 12/30
5. Christmas Eve at Friday Harbor by Lisa Kleypas (Christmas = winter in Friday Harbor) == 12/31
6. Tooth and Nailed by Hannah Murray (The majority of the story takes place in Ireland, and it's winter there at the moment.) == 01/02
7. Friday I'm in Love by Mari Carr (The story ends on a chilly winter day. New Year's Eve = winter in Baltimore.) == 01/06
8. Highland Dragon by Kimberly Killion (Most of the story takes place during the winter.) == 01/09
9. Raising Kane by Lorelei James (The story takes place during the winter.) == 01/10
10. Master of the Mountain by Cherise Sinclair (Some of the BDSM plays made me shiver, and shivers remind me of winter.) == 01/11
11. Lone Star Trouble by Autumn Piper (The story takes place in Colorado, where only the strong survive the winter - according to the heroine, of course. She doesn't think the hero can make it.) == 01/14
12. Beast Behaving Badly by Shelly Laurenston (The story takes place during the winter.) == 01/15
13. Shaken by Dee Tenorio (The story takes place on a cloudy winter day.) == 01/19
14. Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off by Cara North (The hero worries about the heroine being able to endure winter in Montana, where they live.) == 01/25
15. Tessa's Pride by Olivia Brynn (The story takes place during the winter.) == 01/26
16. Barenaked Jane by Deanna Lee (The story takes place during the winter.) == 02/03
17. Random Acts of Senseless Kindness by Graham Parke (The story takes place during the winter.) == 02/04
18. Understood by Maya Banks (The story takes place during the winter.) == 02/16
19. Mistletoe at Midnight by L.B. Gregg (The story takes place during the winter.) == 02/21
20. I Heard Him Exclaim by Z.A. Maxfield == 02/22

Congratulations for the participants who had finished since I last came here!!!I've been out-of-the-loop for a while. My focus had been on life's intrusions and so, I hadn't updated my status for about a week.
Anyway, since it will take some time, I'll just briefly put this up:
Umm, I'll add when I finished them later. But I HAVE finished reading them.

UniquelyMoi *~*Dhestiny*~* wrote: "I have you down for 4/4 and done, E. Is that not correct?"Yup! But since there are still a few more days left of Winter (a.k.a. the challenge) I decided I might as well add the books that I've been reading thus far into the challenge. Hence, the two books and hopefully, the book that I'm currently reading.
So in essence, this is what it is:
4/4 + 2
You could say that the 2 is "extra" reading for the challenge.
Also...I feel sorta guilty about the the word that I took out due to the pressure of life's intrusions. Thus, to appease my guilt, I decided to read more books. So...uhh...you could say that the word that I took out is "EXTRA HELPING" and such for me.So expect me to be here again to make a final "countdown" (cue the song w/ the lyrics 'It's the FINAL COUNTDOWN!') about my winter challenge. Ehehehehehe...
LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Remember, these are guilt free challenges! You can change them whenever you want to!In fact, I'm so horrible about changing that it's almost a guaranteed "back to the bookshelf" if I list a book ahead of time. The only way I can stick with the challenge is if I list them AFTER I've read them!

See, when I under the pressure (though I still am under pressure) I thought that I couldn't do it. I only added that word in case that I finished the word that I committed to w/ extra time to spare. Thus, when the word was added to my total, I felt bad and put pressure on myself to read that much. And now that I have this "extra time" I felt that I can accomplish it. DEPENDING/HOPING that I'll meet the deadline for this challenge.

My sister is planning a clean up too. She borrowed a bunch of my books. Not sure how that helps, but if it keeps her reading..... :)

I'm thinking for sure I'll finish Blakewell/Kenleigh and KMM's Highlanders. That's 6/15, I need 9 more. I need about 6 for Virgin River, and I'm sure I'll have no problem making the other 3.

(') = Dante's Marriage Pact - Day Leclaire ~ [12/29/2010]
M = Monroe, Lucy - Willing (Mercenary/Goddard Project, #4) ~ [3/3/2011]
C = Christine Feehan - Ruthless Game ~ [1/14/2011]

I FINISHED MY "EXTRA HELPING" portion!!!!! I sorta switched two books due to the (') clause not fitting the last book that I finished. However, it all fits quite nicely. Maybe next time that I used that (') clause I'll expand on it a bit. Next time...
Anyway, for this challenge, that means I finished 7 books! Yay!!!!! I feel so proud of myself. ^__^
