I'd agree, this wasn't my favorite, but I enjoyed it well enough to buy the rest, which are all kinds of yummy goodness!
Thanks, UM & Bekah. I loved The Dom's Dungeon, so I'm not giving up on the Club Shadowlands series and I hope the next books are better. :)

ALL THINGS WINTER 3/5Read at least 5 books that I already own, with some sort of winter theme. Snow on the cover, etc... with 2 being books my Secret Santa gave me.
1.Christmas Mischief-read 12/21 -12/23 - 3 Christmas stories. Christmas is in Winter.
2.Naughty and Nice -read 12/21 - 12/22 - 4 Christmas stories. Christmas is in Winter.
3.Thunder and Roses- Secret Santa - has the word "Thunder" in the title. Thunder storms remind me of Winter.
4.Flowers from the Storm - Secret Santa - The word "Storm" is in the title and storms remind me of Winter.
5. Twas The Night - The story takes place during a snow storm while the Santa Brigade travels by bus to homeless shelters giving away presents. The snow storm, the Santas, the goodwill all remind me of winter - read 12/23-12/26
6. Anchor and Storm - Kate Poole - "Storm"

What would you rate Twas the Night? I grabbed that one while it was a kindle freebie before Thanksgiving

Alycia wrote: "What would you rate Twas the Night? Also, as soon as I'm done, I give it a star rating based on how I felt when I reached the end. My immediate star rating on this one was a 4 because even though it was a light read, it was fun. There were the 3 romances which flowed really well, a fun uplifting storyline (perfect for the holidays) and a fantastic supporting cast. It felt a little dated in the dialog (it was originally written 9 years ago and has been re-released) and cheesy in places. But overall, it was a fun, feel good read, with some steamy moments to it.
The epilogue invites us to the weddings of the 3 couples in July of 2011. I'm wondering if there's a sequel coming out which also explains the re-release.
Oh, and I'm wavering between a 3.5 and a 4 star rating.

Thanks! That kind of what I would have expected.
Okay, here is what I came up with.... If you remove the fun-filled holidays, winter for me is a SERIES of cold days with little sunlight. Truth-be-told... I HATE COLD!!
My challenge -- I'll read books (from my already owned TBR) that are the start of or a part of a series... with the titles spelling out "I hate cold".
I - Immortal in Death In Death #3 (This one is for you, my fair Dina... as I revisit this series that I know you love and give it another go...)
H - Hunger Like No Other IAD #1
A - After the Kiss The Notorious Gentleman #1
T - The School for Heiresses: Don't Bargain with the Devil AND Wed Him Before You Bed Him (Yep, I've already got them both, so I figured I might as well finally close this series out!) School for Heiresses #5 and #6
E - Everything I Ever Wanted Compass Club #2
C - Changes Dresden Files #12 (This is my only reread that I've allowed myself... but I know I will want to read it again in March to get ready for #13 on 04/05/2011!!)
O - Operation Sheba Super Agent Series #1
L - Let Me Be The One Compass Club #1 (That's right, before I could read book 2 as listed above, I better read #1!)
D - Dark Road to Darjeeling Lady Grey #4 (Okay, I got smart and worked in the book that I was currently reading, which just happened to fit the bill... Great series, btw, if you don't mind it being very light on the romance)
Okay... there is my list, but I have to say, I didn't manage to work in an "S" for Shadowfever, which will absolutely, positively be read starting on release date 01/18. Can't wait to see how KMM finishes up Mac's story!)
Christine S. wrote: "Laura wrote: "Ohhhh...have you read Juliet Marillier before? She's one of my all-time fave authors...LOVE her! "Laura.... I haven't read anything from Juliet Marillier yet, but I am anxious to s..."
I'll be curious to see what you think of her when you're finished. I recommended the Sevenwaters series to a co-worker and she's loving them so far. I was pretty excited to receive Seer of Sevenwaters for Christmas and will be reading it for the January challenge.

Ok, ATron! Will do. It's easier for me to keep track if you list your books and stats like this x/11 or 3/11, etc. That way I don't have to take off my slippers so I can count that high ;)
Haha! Will do, Dhes... I wouldn't want your toesies to get cold! Thanks for letting me drop in late!

COLD is the one that I'll be focused on for this challenge. Depending on time, I'll be adding the other word IF life doesn't interfere. Also, (') means that the title has an (') in it somewhere,. There will be some Harlequin/Silhouette books since (1) I have them, and (2) life intrusion takes the majority of the time so that I need some short ones to fulfill the challenge, and (3) I have a picky attention span.
Nice to see Ruthless Game on your list, E. Ghostwalkers are a longtime fave of mine! Okay, Dhes... I'm now 1/11!! I tearfully finished Dark Road to Darjeeling last night. I'm on to After the Kiss by Enoch. I'm hoping it'll have some of that Enoch humor in it to lighten my reading after DRtD. Raybourn never fails to make me cry somewhere along the way...
December 21, 2010 to March 20, 2011Since the weather outside is frightful, but the fire is so delightful and since there's no place to go, I will read, I will read, I will read!
I plan to read 25 books that remind me how lucky I am to be inside reading and not outside FREEZING!!!

Someone needs to clue me in on how to do that neato crossing out thingy that you girls do.... oh, and bold and italics. I thought I was doing good putting the book links and cover pics. ;)

ATron, just put "s" between two brackets at the beginning of what you want to strikethrough, and at the end put "/s" in brackets.brackets meaning <>
Does that make sense?

Nice list, Nicki! I enjoyed Hot Ice... And if you've not read Lord of Ice by Foley, that one is awesome, IMO. Fabulous winter read and one of the books that made me love Foley.
Very nice, Nicki! You don't even have to explain why you chose the books you listed. I had to be "creative" to fit the books I've read in this challenge, LOL.
Thanks y'all! And I already have them all. About 3/4 are from my massive TBR stacks or TBL audios that I may have read before. Only 6 are rereads for the sake of the challenge including Lord of Ice which is a favorite. Always good to have an excuse to read it!
