Hi Karen!Believe me, you are not alone in saying you've got more 'to read' than 'read' books hahahaha. We all suffer the same malady!
Welcome to goodreads Karen!
Yeah, tell the hubby to hide all the money, becuase you will be spending like a fiend!!!
Glad to have you here!

Hi Karen... I'm in Manchester! You're in good company, we're all book addicts who can't control our to-read lists!
Hey Karen! Stay away from other people's reviews and recommendations...it will only further aggravate your 'sickness'. :-)
Hi Karen, welcome to the group.Having gone through your bookshelves(shameless,I know)I noticed that you've read a number of Nicci French novels but I didn't see one of the best which was Land of the Living. It doesn't get more suspenseful than this one.Worth getting the bank card for. :)
From one addict to another: "Welcome, Karen" I visited Birmingham back in the mid-90's. (My company used to be headquartered there.) One of my favorite memories of that trip was when I went down to London and spent time browsing in a little bookstore. Go figure, eh? :)
Hi, Karen! I see you're a JP fan, I just read his new book Sail and it was really good.Hope you enjoy the group!!
Hi Karen, and welcome. I'm from Yorkshire so there are more of us from the UK creeping onto these pages. I've only been a member on here for a month and I am utterly addicted. What's great is that everyone celebrates each others addictions to books and there is no snobbery around what we should be reading etc - I love it.

I have been passionate about books for as long as I can remember. I have several family photos that show other family members posing happily for the camera but little me buried in a book!! My parents divorced when I was four and I spent weekends with my father. My weekend treat was a trip into town to my favourite bookshop 'The Midland Educational' where my father would buy me a book. I always treasured my books when I was a child, no scribbles or page creasing allowed!! I still treasure my books today. I can easily spend hours browsing around my local bookshops. Apart from bookshops, I purchase many books from charity shops, online auctions etc.
I am slowly trying to add some of the books I have read over the years. The problem is that I keep getting sidetracked by other peoples reviews and recommendations. :) I have a strong feeling that my 'to read' list is going to out grow my 'read' list! It is possibly a good idea to get hubby to hide the bank cards. :)
I look forward to meeting some fellow books addicts and reading about some of your favourite books.
Hope you all have a great day,
Karen
