Oh man that season finale had me holding my breathe. Those last 30minutes we're great. September can't get here fast enough! Only thing I hate is that Opie is marrying the porn star.

Opie is probably my favorite character on the show and that scene in the car was just riveting. I don't know who Ally Walker is, I've never seen her before SoA, but I really don't like her and I felt so bad for her at the end so she must be a pretty good actress.

So it looks like next season the Sons will have to deal with prison and the Russians?

I felt bad for Stahl , just a little bit. I liked her evil character. I never knew what she would do next, Yup it looks like Prison and the Russians. Also I think they'll have to work on taking down Hale.

i really enjoyed the first two seasons but i disliked and was bored by this season, unfortunately.

but there was one thing i loved: agent stahl. in the first two seasons i found her to be very annoying. but in this third season - wow! she just turned into such a fascinating and coldblooded villain. especially those last couple episodes.

and the finale was pretty great too.

Season three wasn't the most exciting season and to be honest I got lost a lot with all the stuff happening in Ireland. I think though that S3 was like an arc book in a series where they have to take some time and lay some more foundation for the next book. Now we know that Jax has a sister and that Clay and Gemma aren't really to be trusted. I like Tara and I've sort of had a crush on her since I first saw her on "Life on Mars" but I don't know anyone else who likes her. What I didn't understand was the final reveal of the hostility between Tig and Kozik was because of a dog?

i am also one of the few who really likes tara. i think she's a great actress and it has been fun watching the character get more and more tough.

I just started watching this, almost finished with Season 1 and I'll get the next when I return it tomorrow. I didn't read anything above because I don't want spoilers, but I'm sure I'll be caught up soon enough.

I didn't think this would be my kind of show...bikers, criminals. But so many of my friends love it. My one friend Lisa who rarely watches TV told me she started Season 2 and could not stop, spent 13 hours in from of the TV all in one sitting. Now that's one hell of a testamonial if I ever heard one and it prompted me to rent Season 1.

I find it oddly interesting. It blows my mind how they makes plans and things go sideways all the time. How do they stay in business?
And Jackson is sexy in that bad boy dirtbag biker kind of way.

I am enjoying it. I just picked up Season 2 this morning. The first ep was crazy with those crazy Neo-nazis, what they did to Gemma.

I did read the above posts, couldn't help myself.
I saw right away that Clay and Gemma can't be trusted, I think they killed John Teller, I've had that thought since I found out the SoA killed Lowell's father. And Gemma has consistently been manipulative to everyone from the first episode.

Ally Walker was on 'Profiler', and old series, she hasn't aged much. Her character was nicer on that than on SoA.
She's been a bitch right from the start of her appearance on SoA but the use of the word 'villian' has me quite intriqued. Nice draw, and yet not spoiler-ish. I'm sure I'll blow through this season and move on to the next real quick.

Wait until you get to season three of SoA because Ally Walker moves right up there into Bruce Dern territory* for me.

My TV addiction is kicking into high gear, I'm up to Season 3 Episode 9.
Now I see why you've said Stahl is evil. I'm stressing out over the IRA priest, he's evil too. I'm worried about Tara and I'm hating Jax right about now. I can't believe he slept with that skanky porn slut.

It's okay, they were on a break! I can't remember the exact quote, but I loved what Opie said to Jax the day after he slept with the skanky porn slut! I could never figure the priest out and wait, Stahl gets even worse!

PS: I love how they altered the opening music to have an Irish flair when doing the Ireland arc. I'm a big fan of Irish/Celtic music so I especially enjoyed the music they played while in Ireland.

(view spoiler)[The incarcerated SAMCRO brothers are free again come Tuesday at 10/9c, when FX’s Sons of Anarchy revs up its fourth cycle. What awaits them is a club that idled in their absence, and now is poised to go full-throttle as part of a high-caliber gun-running network.

“Everyone comes out feeling like they have a handle on things,” series boss Kurt Sutter tells TVLine. “And of course that handle loosens fairly quickly.”

The first tilted domino leading to a potential shake-up is Jax, who emerges from the clink determined to do right by Tara and their family — which now includes newborn Thomas — by someday putting asphalt between him and SAMCRO.

“Jax and Tara are in it for the long haul,” says Charlie Hunnam. “So now it’s a process of Jax figuring out how to extricate himself in the most clean and not dangerous way, without the whole thing jeopardizing his family.”

Adds Maggie Siff, “For Tara and Jax, there was a real coming together at the end of last season that wasn’t decimated by him going to prison. In a strange way, that solidified their bond, at the same time that it raised the stakes for her in terms of figuring out how to live a normal life.”

The couple’s want for “normal” however can be filed under Easier Said Than Done, especially when it clashes with Clay’s own new endgame and plans for SAMCRO.

Season 4 “is all about the internal machinations of the club, and how it runs itself,” says Sutter. “Everything that we laid out for the first three seasons, in terms of conflicts and character relationships, comes into play.”

Also in play are the letters that John Teller wrote to Maureen aka Old Lady No. 2 — carried from Belfast to the States via an oblivious Jax, and now in Tara’s possession. Says Sutter, “The letters will inform one of the bigger arcs this season,” especially as Gemma grows curious about their existence.

“There’s definitely some unraveling that happens for her,” says Gemma’s portrayer, Katey Sagal. “And that has to do with the John Teller history.”

Tara, says Siff, “realizes that shes sitting on some very volatile information” — in that the missives implicate Clay and Gemma in the death of Jax’s father — “and I don’t think she knows exactly what to do with it.” One thing she does know? “Bringing them into the light of day doesn’t seem to be the wisest course of action.”

Combine the Jax/Clay conflict (and their arrival at an explosive “resolution”) with the veritable time bomb that is the John Teller letters, add in Rockmund Dunbar (Prison Break) as a new sheriff unflinching in his desire to lay down the new law, and sprinkle in pulp film icon Danny Trejo (Machete) as SAMCRO’s new BFF, and you have a Season 4 that leads to “a very big and very violent, dramatic conclusion,” Hunnam teases. “By the end of this season, the whole dynamic of the club will have changed forever.” (hide spoiler)]

I've been wondering when we were going to get to the John Teller storyline.

The premiere episode was a little weak but got better towards the end. Loved how they got rid of the Russians.

The new sheriff's gonna be a problem. And that US Attorney. Something really weird about that guy.
I hope they get rid of Hale too, he annoys me.

Poor Unser. I like that old man.

I thought I was done with Jacks since he cut his hair, but he's still a hot specimen. Guess I'm not done after all, lol And speaking of hair, Opie really needs to cut his, he looks like Bigfoot.

One question about Jacks extricating himself from the Sons safely: Won't he have to remove the tattoo on his back if he gives up the club?

I lied. Another question: What about the parolees not wearing their colors in public? I find that hard to believe that any of them would go for it, even if it means they finish out their parole in jail.

I don't think Jax is going to have to worry about leaving the club because I think Tara is going to get killed at some point this season and I wouldn't be surprised if it came at Gemma's hand. Just my speculation based on nothing solid.

The new AUSA, he's an interesting character so far and could he actually maybe be SAMCRO?

I thought the ep was pretty good from start to finish, but the finish was off the chart. How about Otto and his committment to the club?!

[Jackie]

I thought about the AUSA as being affiliated in the beginning when he nodded to the boys coming home, then he had all those guys working for him and I thought No, then the way he hung back with no surveillance for the wedding, I'm saying yes again.
Either he's affiliated or he's the unluckiest SoB on the planet. And he seems too smart to let an opportunity to go by unless he chose to. This would be an effective way to neutralize the new sheriff.

I like Tara and hope she don't die but revenge would be just the thing to keep Jacks in. But I also think it's more than his feelings for Tara that he wants out, it's for the boys. So those boys would have to die too and I don't want to see anything like that.
What I think is Tara will be the one to want to stay.

I enjoyed the show from beginning to end. My only complaint is there were to many commercials! The show was probably only a hour long.

I had no idea that Kurt sutter was Katie's husband.

I love Jax new hair cut, he could never look bad. I agree, Opie needs a trim in a bad way. The wedding cracked me up! It was my first biker wedding.

I have a question, Opie's bride made a strange face when Opie implied
she was pregnant. Isn't it 14 months later and how can she still be pregnant didn't she have a abortion?

Opie never went to jail so she could be pregnant again.

I didn't watch The Sopranos so I don't know, but I can't see the show going on without him and I can't see him leaving. Unless it's maybe a 5-year story arc and the show will end next year?

I thought she was going to get killed earlier in the season but now I don't know. I can't see Jax leaving the show but if he moves to Oregon then how can he remain in the club? But if Tara is gone then he's free to stay and battle Clay for control next season. The previews for next week show her being kidnapped and I can't believe these guys are going to keep her alive for long.

And how evil is the Clay character, huh?! I couldn't believe it when he made the call.

I still want to know who that AUSA guy is and if he's really who he says he is or someone else.

If you thought FX’s Sons of Anarchy came in hot this Tuesday night and let loose with a bevy of dark twists, series creator Kurt Sutter needs you to know this: “Things will only continue to spiral downward” for Jax, Clay and the rest of the SAMCRO crowd. For viewers, he does promise an imminent chance to “breathe” (though, he notes, the show will stop well short of serving up “a lot of laughter”).

In the wake of all that transpired during the episode aptly titled “Hands,” TVLine invited Sutter to discuss the storytelling avenues he steered his Sons onto, including why he let one character cheat death, if another major player is now beyond redemption (answer: not necessarily), and how this mayhem led to the next episode getting super-sized.


TVLINE | I wanted to first talk about the decision to not kill Tara, at least for now. Is your school of though that it will be harder for Jax to live with a destroyed wife than a dead one?
[Killing Tara] was never my intention. As the season progresses, you’ll see that it’s about creating parallels that relate back to Jax’s father, to Gemma, and we see that arc continue to play out. Tara truly loves Jax, but it’s always sort of on-again, off-again in terms of her being supportive of the club and not supporting the club. I knew that if she were to continue on this path that we really would have to knock her off the fence, and in Episode 10 I think both she and Gemma get knocked off the fence. As she says in that one scene with Jax, her skills as a doctor were her “way out,” and now that’s been taken away from her, so it was just really about creating this circumstance where we could do that. I know I didn’t want her to get kidnapped again, because we had done that. And that king-and-queen parallel that we have with JT and Gemma and Clay and Gemma was something I wanted to continue to play out, so I knew that I didn’t want to kill her or do that to Jax at this point. His conflict of club and [doing right by his family] will continue, and without Tara, you take some of the power of that away.

TVLINE | Tara’s not necessarily out of the woods yet, though.
Obviously Clay will remain a threat throughout the rest of the season – and there’s almost another third of the season to go.

TVLINE | Turning to Clay/Gemma: How do you script that brutal assault scene without thinking, “I’m hereby painting this guy into a corner”?
Well, I think that’s point. I’m a big believer in committing, and rather than sort of seeing Clay sort of go to the dark side, we needed to see him basically cross that line. The reality of it – and we have this discussion in the writers room – is this is not the first time Clay has hit Gemma, and it’s not the first time Gemma has hit Clay. We have seen the passion and the violence in their relationship in the past, but I do believe this is the first time it was not just a smack and a push and a shove and a scream, but it manifested into absolute rage where he close-fisted and brutally beat her. There are some opinions in terms of why Gemma gave Clay the chance that she gave him [at the end of last week's] Episode 9, and for me it’s because these two had this life together … and I really do believe that Gemma thought she could bring Clay back. She has been his guiding light for such a long time, at the end of [Episode] 9, when she looks him in the eye and says, “Promise me,” she really believes that she got through to him. Clay ultimately making that decision [to order the hit on Tara] is about his own fear and his own ability to trust, which is really his tragic flaw. Once he does that, Gemma feels like, “OK, he can’t be trusted and he is no longer an advocate of moving my family in the right direction.” But it took that act of brutality for her to really get to that place.

TVLINE | And the immediacy with which he betrayed that promise spoke volumes. There’s no bringing him back.
No, there isn’t, but you know what? Here you have these really strong, complex characters. And not to draw this parallel, but look at the things Tony Soprano had done over the years – the lies and the cheating that he did with Carmella. And yet there were times when he came back to that relationship where you really believed that at the end of the day he still loved her and maybe they had a chance. And I think that’s the case for Clay. Obviously he’s definitely gone to the dark side here and he’s done some horrendous things, and that’ll continue to play out, but as I watch these last three or four [upcoming] episodes, Clay has got a lot of demons and there’s a lot of reasons for the things that he does, and there are moments where I honestly believe people will have compassion for him — maybe not forgive him, but absolutely have compassion and understanding as to why he does the things he does. That’s what we do on this show, is show the extreme swings we in humanity all exhibit.

TVLINE | But as I watch him go to these increasingly dark places, I must wonder: Can there be a Sons of Anarchy without Clay?
I never think of it in terms of, “OK, who can I do this show with? And who can I do it without?” I really try to tell the stories organically. Take the death of Piney. To me, that’s an arc that’s been building since the first season, and it really made sense this season for it to go down, in terms of moving this show along and moving the body of the other characters forward. That death will be a mile-marker in the mythology of the show. I try to let the stories manifest, and then I get to the decision of, “If it makes sense for this character to go, what does that mean for the rest of the show?” A perfect example is Juice this season. We brought him to that point where he was swinging from that tree and we thought: “What if the branch doesn’t snap? What if he does kill himself?” I could have gone either way, but he’s a character that has a lot of vulnerabilities and brings a lot of compassion and lightness, for lack of a better word, to the show, so I made the decision creatively that I didn’t want that character to go away.

TVLINE | After “Hands,” will we have a moment for the color to get back in our knuckles, or are you going to keep on keeping on for this season’s final four episodes?
It was an intense episode, and obviously the manifestations of that will play out. It’s why I think Episode 11 [airing next Tuesday] ended up being 90 minutes. I organically had to have people respond and react. You’ll see the ramifications that it has on Jax, as he sees Gemma, and on the rest of the club. Things will continue to spiral downward, in terms of the relationships within the club. We’ve released some of the tension in terms of going after Tara — she is being guarded by the Prospects, so at least that threat is somewhat diminished — but the emotional impact continues. I don’t think there’ll be a lot of laughter in the next three or four episodes, but perhaps people will breathe a little bit. (hide spoiler)]
