I must admit I feel WAY better if I clean the kitchen before I sleep. I feel calmer. Not sure why.

I'm with RA. I hate waking up to a sinkful of dirty dishes with a layer of scum on them.

ms.petra (mspetra) yes, even if the rest of my house is a disaster, I have a clean kitchen.
It is calming RA.

Sarah | 13814 comments Kitchen always clean. Hazard of living with a chef. No dishes are ever to be left. If something is really scummy it can get an overnight soak, but that's the limit.

Kevin (ksprink) | 11469 comments my wife is a night owl and stays up late dinking and dorking around the house cleaning and listening to a movie or whatever she does. i rinse my dishes after we eat and always clean up after i cook but she tidy's up the kitchen after i am in bed reading.

I have to have the dishwasher loaded and set to run while we sleep. I clean the counters and make things tidy before I can sleep. I can't abide waking up and making coffee amid a sink full of nastiness.

Lori One of the glories of MS is that, because of fatigue, I just don't care anymore! I can now go to sleep with a messy kitchen, phew. After all, tomorrow is another day!

Do you run your dishwasher every day?

Yes, we have to. With all the baby dishes and all the cooking I do, yes.

Phil | 11852 comments Wow. Ours is run about once every five days.

message 12: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments We have to run ours just about every day. Three kids and all that. But as I've said before, I don't mind washing dishes, so sometimes I just do them by hand.

That's about how often we run ours too.

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments HA HA HA ... I had to read that twice. I thought your wife stayed up late drinking ...

I thought the same thing!

Shirley (shirleythekindlereader) Just one (more if you count the pets)in this house and I have a small/large sides sink so....I keep a large plastic bowl of dish water all day so I can do them as I go. I batch cook and most of my dishes would take too long to fill the dishwasher or have to be washed by hand anyway. This works for me and lets me soak an item or two for as long as needed.

I like the way it says "do you empty your sink of dirty dishes." Not, do you wash your dirty dishes.

message 19: by Gatorman (new)

Gatorman I clean them or stick them in the dishwasher before bed. Do not want to see dirty stuff in the sink in the morning.

I don't want to see dirty stuff in the sink in the morning either. Yech! I avoid looking down at it.

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments I have TRIED to leave dirty dishes in the sink at night, and just can't. I'll find myself in the dark kitchen washing them even if I'm dropping from fatigue and really should just go to bed.

Not that there's ever that many dishes, since it's just me to clean up after.
