Sebastian (blackburn) | 5 comments Hi,

I´ve recently noticed that amazon.co.uk lists several Virgin New Adventure books for pre-order (to be published between March & May 2011).
e.g. Ben Aaronovitch's "So Vile A Sin":
http://www.amazon.co.uk/New-Doctor-Wh...
And if you enter the search-string "doctor who orman" (looking for Kate Orman's books) and sort it by publication date, there's several EDA's listed for publication between February and May...

Has anybody an idea if BBC finally realized what a treasure they own with all those book rights? Or is that just one of those Amazon mistakes or a hoax or whatever?

Thanks,
Seb.

Mark C | 43 comments Apparantly these are genuine. The BBC has decided to reprint some of the NAs and EDAs. I can't find a much info other than that but apparantly Lance Parkin confirmed on the Gallifrey Base website that some of his novels were being re-released.

I already own all of the novels so I'm not particularly bothered by this but I can imagine this being good news to many people who have frustrating gaps in their collections or those newer fans who missed out on the NAs and EDAs first time round.

Leela4 | 98 comments I hope it's more than just Orman and Parkin. I think they're both mostly-terrible.

Strange that Amazon.uk only credits "So Vile a Sin" to Aaronovitch right now. --Orman did the actual writing. Is "Blue Box" her only book that doesn't have the Doctor tortured? Imagine the reaction of a NuWho fan whose first NAs and EDAs are "The Left-Handed Hummingbird" and "Seeing I". Maybe if their favorite episode is "Dalek"....

She tortures poor Colin Baker in Blue Box by putting him in an outfit even more hideous than his original (black dress shirt, slacks, dress shoes, and multicolor tie - the Doctor is now a salesman of men's clothes at Macy's). I normally love Kate's books but come on! Changing the Doctor's outfit for no good reason, let's leave that to the fanfiction writers, eh?

Aaagh! My eyes! My eyes!

Robert Wright (rhwright) | 74 comments Anyone know of any easy way to determine which EDA have been reissued (currently) as e-books, preferably in the US?

I know the Lance Parkin ones are, but other than that my Google-fu has failed me and I don't want to check them one by one.

Andrew | 25 comments Some of Kate Orman's has been too.

Other than that I don't belive any other EDAs have been reprinted.

Sebastian (blackburn) | 5 comments Obviously, there's also been the recent reprints of
several PDA's (Eight Little Aliens, Dream of Empire, Last of the Garderene, Festival of Death, Fear of the Dark, Players) and one EDA (Earthworld) as part of the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Collection.

And Paul Cornell's "Scream of the Shalka" has been reprinted, this year.

Sebastian (blackburn) | 5 comments ...oh, I almost forgot that Paul Cornell's EDA "The Shadows of Avalon" was reprinted earlier this year, as well...

Andrew | 25 comments Don't know if anyone knows this already, but I've just discovered that several doctor who books are being re-released in roughly March 2014. Some of these aren't that exciting as they are only books that have been out fairly recently and you can probably still buy new. But there are a few missing/PDA/and virgin books being re-released too!
