Pirates seem to be dominating this conversation. The sad thing is, some people seem to be voting based on a partisan advocate's claims that this bill is about censorship and an attack on the 1st Amendment.

One doesn't have a first amendment right to break copyright laws!

Last week as I was visiting the poll on Washington Watch, I saw where another bill just passed...a bill for legislators to avoid using legal language and word bills so that everyone can understand. I don't know if that is the problem with S3804, but there is a lot of confusion leading to erroneous assumption.

We just need to work harder to spread the word, and we can do it!

Brit, thank you for your remarks. I wonder whether this means that Bills will have to be in multiple languages, and if they are, what happens if there is a mistake in translation?

I seem to recall some lack of legal clarity regarding such simple words as "sex" and "is" in recent years, so I am not hopeful that this worthy bill will be the success we'd all like to see.

Maybe it would be a splendid idea if more of us encouraged our contacts to vote one way or another on COICA (s 3804) by displaying the free widget on our blogs.
