Ciao Node! Glad you joined the group. I'm sure there are lots of French writers, other than Fred Vargas and Simenon, that you can tell us about.

don't miss TERMINAL POLICY by Liam McCurry... there's a good section (about p 185ish) re the awe felt in the Church of the Dome at Napoleon's tomb when the head terrorist is trying to recruit Fragonard to "terminate" another of those insured by Pan Global!!!

Another french author I like is Jean-Christophe Grangé His books are very dark and a bit gore but enjoyable.
