Randy | 34 comments Just bought a Sony ebook. There's a lot a free fly fishing books - published before 1932. Anyone have any suggestions about which old book I should download?

Randy | 34 comments Thanks Joe, but I don't think Trout Madness is in the public domain yet.

Joe Perrone Jr (catsklgd1) | 17 comments Is that 1932 date set in stone? If not, you might look for Trout by Ray Bergman (1938), or Salar the Salmon by Henry Williamson (1935).

Randy | 34 comments Yes, or maybe 1933 that's about when books become public domain and google books can scan them and we can download them for free. Google books already has a number of fly fishing books, but I don't know where I should start. They have Halford's books.

A.J. Halford and GEM Skues, I'd say.

Randy | 34 comments Thanks. I'm surprised Google has only 6 pages of La Branche's book.

I think on of the great things about ebooks is that forgotten authors might be discovered again.

A.J. Arthur Ransome's columns were collected as a book, but I don't know the pub date on that.

Randy | 34 comments There are some works by Arthur Ransome, but none about fishing. Thanks for the suggestion, though. I downloaded Halford's and Skues' books on dry-fly fishing.
