A really good book I read was called Flygirl by Sherri ________ . It was about a girl who joined WASP during WWII. It was really good!!!!!

Too funny!! I have read every single one of those except AGAINST THE WIND and am currently reading LETTERS FROM HOME!! What a great list!! My favorite of them is THE LOST WIFE!! Another great read is The Soldier's Wife by Margaret Leroy!!

I'm glad to meet someone who likes the same kind of books, Krystyn! Yes, The Lost Wife is an excellent one! I need to mark it as 'read' on my page, because I just finished it. I'll be sure to check out The Soldier's Wife. Thanks for the recommendation!!

I've just finished reading Karen Maitland's 'Company of Liars.' Inspired by Chaucer's Canterbury Tales it's about nine people in 1348 who find themselves traveling together during plague time. They all have secrets and a killer among them. It's a medieval style thriller. Very good though a bit of consolidation in the beginning bit would help create the tension earlier.

I haven't read the books listed above nor have I heard of them. I'm American but I live in Ireland so I miss out on a lot of things that come out there. Are they published in the U.S.

I'm reading Ghost Soldiers: The Epic Account of World War II's Greatest Rescue Mission. Just starting it.
Also reading Conduct Under Fire.

Hello all, I'm new to the group. I am currently reading One Eye Laughing, the Other Eye Weeping: The Diary of Julie Weiss, Vienna, Austria, to New York, 1938
and I just recently read
The Nazi Officer's Wife: How One Jewish Woman Survived the Holocaust
both are wonderful reads!

I'm reading The Shoemaker's Wife and it is fabulous so far!! I usually read HF from WWII timeframe, but this one sounded so good I had to give it a try and I am not disappointed!!!

The Sweetness of Forgetting by Kristin Harmel was absolutely wonderful - WWII storyline along with modern day divorced mother and her struggles. I highly recommend it!!

Hi, I'm new today. I was wondering if any of you have ever read a book based in France during WWII about a pilot that crashes his plane. An American woman takes care of him, the town is involved in the Resistance, and there is a young girl who falls in love with a German soldier. I read this a long, long time ago, but I don't know the name of the book or the author. Please help me!

Found it today!!!! Clash by Night-Doreen Owens Malek. It was an accident that I found it. It really is a good book. Hope I can find a used copy somewhere...it's not available for my nook:( I thanks so much for everyone's help!!!

Hi Stephanie, I read your comment and you sound like me lol. I read so many WW2 books people have said I am obsessed. I also hate snakes and love peanut butter lol. Hello Everyone! I currently just finished reading The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah. Absolutely one of the best books that I have read in a long time. Love it. I hope others will enjoy it as much as I have.
