I'll start off by mentioning my first young adult horror novel, The Witch of Primrose Hill. It is the first in a series of books - The Ramton Gallow Mysteries.

The Witch of Primrose Hill (The Ramton Gallow Mysteries - Book 1) by C J Wright

I am starting work on the second in the series, and at the moment it looks as if it will be running to five books, as well as some short stories set in the town of Ramton Gallow that don't include the main characters from the book, but other people who inhabit the town.

My other young adult horror novel, which came out a few months ago, is Falling Star.

Falling Star by C J Wright

This is a contempary horror novel, and does contain some serious themes (such as self-harm and domestic abuse), as well as supernatural horror.

Rebecca Russell (vigorio) | 3 comments The Seraphym Wars Series is a series of five books. Book 1 ODESSA is due out April 2011 from MuseItUp Publishing. I just submitted Book 2 HARPIES last night. The Prequel Guardian (of the Prophecy) is due out September 2011.

The leader Narciss is attempting to overtake the Megaverse and rule it with his evil followers. There are seven teens called Vigorios who are destined to battle alongside the Seraphym and try to defeat the demons. The series is about their coming together, training, falling in love, surviving a hostile planet & dragon/monster attacks, healing from the evil perpetrated on them as children, and defeating the evil empire (hopefully). All events in the books are based on actual news accounts with very little tweaking. Don't need to fictionalize. Evil is present and active providing all the fodder I need.

Dorlana | 2 comments My werewolf, Little Red Riding Hood inspired YA, Silverweed, will be out in eBook in December. In the meantime, I am serializing it on my blog Supernatural Fairy Tales. Chapter 1 goes up on Oct. 15th. Here is the blurb:
Once upon a time Granny was attacked by a werewolf. Eighteen years later her grandson, Aiden Young, arrives in Indiana for his aunt’s funeral, and his unfortunate discovery of the family secret leads to a fatal mistake. Before the weekend is over, he’s trapped by a blizzard along with his superstitious cousin, Diesel, and Scarlet, Diesel’s manipulative girlfriend. In his grandmother’s spooky, old house in the middle of the woods, the teen faces life and death decisions: who can be trusted, and who needs to be saved? However, he must first figure out what the true monster is… werewolf or fear. Because in this Little Red Riding Hood-inspired supernatural fairy tale, the roles of prey and predator become interchangeable.

This is my first YA novel, my supernatural mystery, which is not YA, was published last year. Jaclyn's Ghost by Dorlana Vann Jaclyn's Ghost

Please check out the back cover copy below, and I can't wait to hear what you all think!

Fires blaze out of control. Looters are run through with speeding lead. Children scream as their flesh is torn by broken teeth. Firearms insistently discharge in the night air. Overtop of it all, the moans of the infected crowds out any pause for silence.

Men. Women. Fathers. Daughters. Wives. Brothers. All are susceptible, and the viral infection is a death sentence. One hundred percent communicable. One hundred percent untreatable. It s making people insane, turning them feral. Zombies. No end is in sight, and Carey Cardinal has run out of options.

Past lives, shadowed histories and long-kept secrets will emerge, making the twisted road ahead ever more difficult to navigate as Carey will discover a foe far more dangerous than the shattered grey dogs - himself.

Rebecca Russell (vigorio) | 3 comments Did you feel the YA Dark Fantasy world quake as Odessa, Book 1 of The Seraphym Wars was released on Earth? Set on the demon home planet of Dracwald, 17 year old Myrna is transported from her home in Jackonville, Fl to a beastly, demon-corrupted, dragon-filled world at Laud the Creator's behest and against her will. In order to return home, she must fulfill a prophecy by collecting together the six remaining teenaged Vigorios (demon-hunters), get them safely to an island filled with Majikal beings who will train them all for the final war between the Seraphym and the Demons, and avoid falling in love with any of the three men pursuing her. Ian Sandusky (idgs) | 4 comments Crimson Letters from Kandahar Province by Ian DG Sandusky

Hey guys, Ian D.G. Sanduskyhere to spread the good news about my newest release!

Crimson Letters from Kandahar Province just came out from the good folks at Wild Wolf Publishing extremely recently, but the feedback so far has been great!

With this novel, I stepped away from my old faithful - zombies - and delved into one of my passions, psychological horror.

It's already being hailed as "Jacob's Ladder for the 21st Century" (which makes me feel all giggly inside, but I don't quite believe it) - and it's on sale for Kindle (and all other ebook formats over at Smashwords) for JUST 99 CENTS!

Here's the back cover copy:

After a roadside bomb tears Private Quincent L Meyer's life apart in Kandahar Province, Afghanistan, he is left horrifically mutilated. Back home, job opportunities pass him by and children cry at the very sight of him. All alone, the world fades to grey.

Every night, Quince is plagued by nightmares, forced to relive the fatal patrol again and again. As the shrapnel rips through him, he wakes to a life he barely knows anymore.

When an accident leads to murder, Quincent is presented with a terrifying choice. Little does he know, the real war has only just begun.

While this may be about a veteran of the Afghani Conflict, it could have been the Battle of Kapyong. Operation Noble Anvil in Kosovo. Operation Medak Pocket in Croatia. The list goes on.

Though we remember the lives they touch and the lives they save, too often we forget that life for our armed forces extends beyond the battlefield. The sacrifices made off-tour. The sacrifices that run deeper than blood.

While I have done my best to keep the military information accurate, I have never had the honour of being a serving member of the Canadian military. I only hope I've done the men and women of CANFOR justice in their bravery.

Support our troops, not only abroad but at home - they risk their live so we don't have to.

Anyways, I hope you'll give it a shot - it can be found here: http://amzn.to/l0LtFS - or, just add it to Goodreads to support small-press horror!

Thanks again guys!

Adrianne Ambrose My horror comedy is Fangs for Nothing. Only 99 cents on all ereaders:

Grab some garlic and start sharpening your mother's wooden spoons because there are vampires living in the most unlikely of places.

I’ve always wanted to meet a vampire. Not to stake some poor bloodsucker as he sleeps in his coffin or have some sexy vampiress bite me on the neck, but just to see a creature so rare and infamous. What can I say? Some people want to sail to Easter Island, others want to fling themselves out of an airplane, I want to shake hands with a vampire. Well, maybe I should prioritize getting a girlfriend first, but a vampire sighting is pretty high up on the list. Trust me, a lot of kids my age dream about it. Like my two best friends, Rini and Xander. We spent half the summer searching the most notorious cities in the United States for the undead, but so far, no luck.

That’s why it came as a total shock to discover a living, breathing vampire in our hometown of Cleveland, Ohio. (Okay, so he’s more undead and not breathing, but you get the picture.) At first we were kind of excited, but then pretty freaked because it turns out our new fanged friend has a hold on the city's teenage population and a specific thirst for their blood. Which, in a word—bites.

Adrianne Ambrose The Urchin recently launched. It's a dystopian horror, also 99 cents on all ereaders, but I'm giving away 50 copies on Amazon Kindle (already gave away 25)so if you'd like one, just private message me. Here's the link and blurb:

Since the End came, leaving the United States a confused and desolate wasteland, what is left of society has been trying to pick up the pieces and put itself back together. Nick Miller is willing to do whatever it takes, and is flying a top-secret mission over the devastation when he is forced to make a crash landing. Luckily, he is rescued by the brooding, enigmatic Vance Amherst and his dubious crew of teenage boys, who are eking out an existence in the remains of their boarding school. But Nick quickly realizes that something is very wrong at Stanton Academy: the school has been turned into a fortress bristling with giant spikes; the boys, armed to the teeth with wooden stakes, exude a desperate, fearful discipline; the teaching staff is conspicuously absent. And night is falling…

“...as good as Stephen King at his best and better than most literary authors I’ve read.”

“Written by what I can only describe as a master story teller.”

“He excels at setting the mood, whether it’s sexual tension, a sense of creeping evil, or outright violence.”

“The prose passages are often beautiful and moving.”

“This isn’t just horror. This is marvellous writing and I’m surprised it’s not up at No1.”

“Brilliant but not for the faint-hearted.”

“Multiple storylines, exciting often brutal action, romance, frights, real laughs, surprising twists.”

“I just finished Northman. This is a riveting debut novel.”

“A great supernatural thriller, intelligent writing and the historical elements were superb. It’s thrilling, romantic, funny and scary…”

“…the explorations of life's meanings brought to mind Neil Gaiman's American Gods.”

“…there were numerous scenes that played the scales on my emotions without ever feeling false.”

“One of those rare books that uses genre writing to say something profound…”

"I don't think much of it. I'll read it next week. If I get the time and the Kindle battery is charged."(My Aunt Maude).

I hope you enjoy NORTHMAN as much as I enjoyed writing it.

B.R. (drsillypants) | 1 comments Zombie Gang: Regenerated Earth now available:

Amazon Link http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00CPA4VQM

Smashwords Link https://www.smashwords.com/books/view...

Everyone died in the aftermath of the devastating Devil Virus that ravaged the entire population of Earth. There were no survivors. Five days later, however, the freshly dead returned to life.

Zombie Gang: Regenerated Earth tells a different kind of apocalyptic zombie story. Some returned as Deadheads, who are like predatory flesh-eating zombies. Another group of beings rises from the dead. Those beings are self-aware and they have retained some of their once held human traits. A combination of human and zombie, they are called Zumans.

Zombie Gang: Regenerated Earth follows a teenage gang of Zumans as they struggle to balance their undead existence with their survival against Deadheads and other Zuman survivors, many of whom are dangerous and predatory themselves. At every turn, unspeakable horrors face them as the structures of society collapses all around them.

Led by 17-year old Enrico, the most human-like of the undead gang, he must lead the tattered remnants of society in the fight against the Deadhead uprising.

It is a war of undead versus the undead.

Oh, the Zumanity!

A teen horror novel that is disgusting enough to make the hairs on your neck stand up, but PG enough to keep the adults off your back.

As part of preparing for my new plan, I have had to do some major evaluating and it has been hard. I have only achieved 2 of the 5 goals that were laid out, and although I have pushed and pushed as hard as possible, the 3rd goal "Build a following" which would lead to the 4th goal "live independently on my writing" have eluded me. Which leads me to a very important cross roads. You see, I write for people. If people aren't reading what I write, then why am I doing this?

As a last play in this five year adventure, I am now offering my books on Smashwords at the "You Set The Price" feature. Which means that you can buy/ gift any or all of my books for whatever price you think that they are worth. Including free. All I ask in return is for a review, for you to share, for you to tell a friend. https://www.smashwords.com/profile/vi...

If I can't even give my books away for free,
then I'll know this is not the path for me.
But if you like what you read, let me know.

Costas (costaszapas) | 1 comments Horror Cabin Review: "Frankenstein REC” is an ABSOLUTE MUST READ for fans of gothic horror, love stories, or Frankenstein ... that’s some truly scary stuff."

Goodreads giveaway FRANKENSTEIN REC link

HORROR CABIN Read the review here:
“Frankenstein REC” is gothic horror at its best with great characters, an engaging, easy to read story, and a protagonist you actually care about.

Frankenstein REC by Costas ZapasThis is not a re-writing of Mary Shellys classic novel. I’m not even sure if it counts as a re-imagining. While it does concern the original monster we know as Frankenstein, it brings with it a modern day appeal that will keep the attention of today’s audience.

It begins as we are introduced to the young, female reporter. She suffers from a form of narcolepsy that leaves her in another world between this one and the other side. We are told when she has these bouts, a chemical is released into her system that causes sleeping hallucinations, leaving her to wonder whether what she experiences are real or not when she awakens.

She works at a local TV station where she serves as hostess of a very popular paranormal segment. Her real passion and research is the legend of Frankenstein. She strongly believes that it is not just legend at all, but rather a very real thing that was discovered by alchemists as a way to gain immortality.

When a theater troupe comes to town to put on a play of Frankenstein, they reach out to her, seemingly for promotion and ticket sales. This winds up not being the case and from the time she meets the “manager” of the group for an interview, things start to get bizarre.

Is she going insane? Is she seeing ghosts? Are her narcoleptic spells transferring into her waking moments? Of course, that’s for you to find out. Because to delve any deeper into the story would force spoilers to a story that you should be reading for yourself.

Two things about “Frankenstein REC” stood out for me as I was reading. First, the style of writing used by author COSTAS ZAPAS is easily read and brings with it a fluidity that belies the book as a whole. Not only is this gothic tale scarily realized with his words, but it brings about several philosophical debates as we are invited into the thoughts of the young reporter as she goes about trying to solve the mystery of Frankenstein.

The second thing that stands out about “Frankenstein REC” is how easily the author combines factual bits of information about how the original Frankenstein got written and blending it seamlessly with the core beliefs of the reporter and the main ideology within the book.
“Frankenstein REC” is an absolute must read for fans of gothic horror, love stories, or Frankenstein in general. While many not consider this “real” horror, I strongly disagree. Thinking about some of the theories in this book makes you REALLY start to wonder if such things exist. If so, that’s some truly scary stuff.
And, for a bonus, it’s now being made into a full length feature film! So get busy reading it now so you’ll be caught up before the movie comes out.
