Owlstar peered up over the bush at the edge of Fourtrees and was immediately pleased to see that his warriors were the first there. He signaled to them with his tail in the forward position, trotting out into the open. He immediately leapt up to the Highrock and sat with his tail curled around his paws.
Blossompaw was walking next to Leopardpaw, Moonpaw and Darkpaw. "You guys will love it," she kept repeating, her eyes shining. She laid down in her usual spot. There was even a groove in the sand for her body..
Leafheart sighed as she walked into the clearing. She really couldn't care less about Gatherings. She sat down at the edge and glared around at everybody.

message 4: by SpazzyJazzy (new)

SpazzyJazzy "Are we the first here?" Moonpaw asked, glancing around the clearing. Somehow, she hadn't expected them to be, and she'd always imagined the place flocked with the other Clans. Darkpaw snorted, as if the answer were obvious, and seated himself down beside Blossompaw. Leopardpaw, however, didn't comment. Instead she glanced over at Gemspirit, before waving her tail at her companions. "Enjoy yourselves" she told her littermates, bounding over to her mentor.

Blossompaw nodded vigorously. "Yes, we're the first here, but that's a first since I've been coming. The other Clans will show up, just you wait." She flicked her tail in a cross between annoyance and disappointment that Leopardpaw wasn't sitting with her, but passed it off immediately and grinned up at Moonpaw.

message 6: by SpazzyJazzy (new)

SpazzyJazzy ((Aw. Leopardpaws loved. :P))

"Hopefully," Moonpaw meowed, flicking her tail somewhat nervously, as if she were afraid they might not. She couldn't help but worry, and she certainly couldn't understand how Blossompaw could be so sure of herself, or Darkpaw could look as if he didn't really care either way. She didn't miss the slight wince that passed over his face as Leopardpaw strode away, and a small pang of jealousy stabbed at her. It wasn't her fault Darkpaw was better friends with Leopardpaw, but it wouldn't kill him to make an effort to be closer to his other sister too.

Emily | 85 comments Brightsky found the same spot she always sat in for gatherings. Her expression was unreadable, her mind reeling with one too many thoughts. She sat down, anxiously awaiting the arrival of the other clans. Most gatherings she loved to socialize with everyone, but tonight was different. Tonight, she just wanted it to be over already.

Ashwwhisker padded into the clearing and took her usual spot right below Highrock. She flicked her tail and waited for the others to arrive.
Owlstar mewed a greeting to Ashwhisker and looked around, hoping the rest of ThunderClan would arrive soon. They needed to start the Gathering.

Lilystar bounded into the clearing with her clan (hopefully) behind her. She started briskly to the Highrock and crouched down, ready to jump up. She bunched her muscles and bounded onto the rock. Nodding to Owlstar, she settled down on the edge of the rock.

Soulstar led her clan in with a cool, composed expression that was devoid of any feeling. She glanced at the gathered clans with the same blank, commanding look before nodding to her clan and smoothly taking her place beside the others. She glanced at them briefly, sweeping her eyes over them uninterestedly before resigning herself to the rest of the Gathering. She hated these things so much as she couldn't care less about the state of the other clans; the sooner she was just responsible for her own clan, the better.

message 16: by SpazzyJazzy (new)

SpazzyJazzy Hawkflight took his designated place, tail curling neatly arund his paws as he pointedly ignored Ashwhisker. His veiws on the Gathering was very much the same as Soulstar, and just because they had to go didn't mean he had to pretend to enjoy it. He'd be clawing these guys ears off in a few moons- why did any of this matter? A Gathering was just an excuse for the Clans to whine at eachother about their problems.

message 17: by Emily (new)

Emily | 85 comments ((Is Shadowclan coming?))

message 18: by SpazzyJazzy (new)

SpazzyJazzy ((Yah-huh. They're waiting for their Deputy to stop dawdling and get back to Camp with his patrol ^.^))

message 19: by SpazzyJazzy (new)

SpazzyJazzy Falconpaw trotted over to the WindClan apprentices, tail waving happily at the thought of interacting with someone who wasn't from his Clan. "Hi!" he chirped happily, grinning despite himself. His ears angled ever-so-slightly in Darkpaws and Moonpaws direction, as if he were intrigued to know who they were. "New apprentices?" he asked Blossompaw, noting they looked slightly bigger than your average 6-moon-old.

message 20: by SpazzyJazzy (new)

SpazzyJazzy Shadowfang approached Brightsky, nodding to the WindClan she-cat and sitting down beside her. Unlike her brother, she didn't think Gatherings were all that bad. "Hey, Brightsky," Shadowfang greeted her, "Hows the prey running?" The usual sentence left Shadowfangs tongue instinctively, as the expression was one commonly shared amongst Clancats. She didn't give a thought to the drought, and nor did she think she should have to. It was an innocent enough question.

Blossompaw nodded and purred. "Yep. It's their first Gathering." She turned to Darkpaw and Moonpaw but didn't bother to get up. "Moonpaw and Darkpaw, this is Falconpaw from RiverClan." She glanced back at Falconpaw and pointed her tail in the direction of Leopardpaw. "She's new too, but she's the medicine cat apprentice and had elected to sit with her mentor as if she's above the rest of us." She was kidding, of course, and her eyes twinkled.
Owlstar greeted Lilystar with a warm nod and Soulstar with a cooler, more businesslike flick of his tail. Knowing that Lilystar probably hadn't, he addressed Soulstar. "You have any idea where ShadowClan is?" he asked dryly. He was ready to start this Gathering without them.
Ashwhisker nodded to the RiverClan deputy, Hawkflight. She was angry about Soulstar not letting them stay and she had seen his expression, but it was good to keep the Gatherings peaceful.

message 22: by SpazzyJazzy (last edited Nov 05, 2010 07:03PM) (new)

SpazzyJazzy "Medicine Cat apprentices," Falconpaw sighed in mock annoyance, shaking his head in what seemed to be exasperation, "Can't trust 'em" he finished, his voice light and teasing. He nodded to Moonpaw and Darkpaw, the tom flicking his tail out of politeness and Moonpaw enthusiastically giving a nod back, shuffling her paws excitedly.
Hawkflight gave the slightest flick of his tail in acknowledgement, but didn't make any other movements. He didn't want to encourage Ashwhisker, afterall, and the more awkward it was for her the better it was for him.

message 26: by SpazzyJazzy (new)

SpazzyJazzy Dawncloud sought out the other Medicine Cats, Gemspirit and Fawnstep. She didn't plan on commenting on Fawnsteps Clans reluctance to help them- she didn't hold the Medicine Cat responsible for her leaders decisions. Glancing up at the leaders, and then further down to the two Deputies, Dawncloud couldn't help but note how, if Soulstar wanted someone as equally disinterested as the other Clans as her, Hawkflight was undoubtedly a good choice. His open hostility was enough to rub any cats fur the wrong way.

Brindlepaw noticed Gemspirit and Leopardpaw. She bounded over. "Hey, weren't you that little kit with all the questions?" she asked Leopardpaw, remembering. Then she saw Dawncloud and waved her tail. She immediately apologized. "I'm so sorry, I don't know why Soulstar was such foxdung."

message 28: by Emily (new)

Emily | 85 comments Brightsky glanced up at Shadowfang.
"Oh um," she muttered, having been interrupted in her thoughts.
"we're managing just fine," she finished calmly.
you know, beside the fact that we twice the mouths to feed.
"So, uh, nice night huh?" She asked, a tad unsure of what to say next.

message 29: by SpazzyJazzy (last edited Nov 06, 2010 10:42AM) (new)

SpazzyJazzy Uh... yeah" Leaopardpaw admitted with a sheepish grin, almost as if the memory embarassed her. She certainly hadn't met Brindlepaw on the best of terms, especially since her brother had been prancing all over their territory at the time.
Dawncloud nodded to Brindlepaw, before going on to say after Leopardpaw, "Soulstars decisions were made with the best interest in her own Clan. I never expected her to willingly take another one in." She waved her tail, almost as if to shrug the whole thing off.

Brindlepaw grinned at Leopardpaw. "It's okay, I was just like you before Fawnstep took me on. Lots of questions and not enough time to gain the answers. You were the best of the bunch, though, that one brother of yours..." She trailed off and flicked her tail, then turned again to Dawncloud.
"I know, but... your forest was burning down. She could be nicer. Yeah, we have less mouths to feed, but even with the drought we have more fish than you guys have prey and your Clan isn't excessively needy, like ShadowClan might be if they stayed with us."

message 31: by SpazzyJazzy (new)

SpazzyJazzy Dawnclouds ear twitched, but she decided against reminding Brindlepaw that the Medicine Cat was originally from ShadowClan. However, that didn't stop her from defending her former Clan, and as discreetly as possible if she could. Some loyalties were hard to live down. "I don't think ShadowClan would take any prey," she reasoned, "They'd probably be too proud to even accept yours and Fawnteps help, let alone want to live off fish."

Soulstar turned her head to Owlstar in a measured movement, suppressing a possibly scathing expression and keeping her blank facade. Trying to make conversation; how pitiful. "Does it matter? We need to start soon." Her tail flicked in minor annoyance. She could hear her name being rustled through the crowd and nearly smirked at the sound. She didn't care if everyone was talking about her, nor was she seeking to be known or the newest topic to discuss - she wasn't that kind of cat. She rather preferred to stay out of the light of things. But it amused her to hear it.

((Hmm. I just realized I had both Riverclan and Windclan Med.Cats. I'd give Windclan med.cat away if anyone wants it...))

Gemspirit nodded politely at Dawncloud and sat down at the edge of the clearing. He glanced at Leopardpaw to make sure she wasn't making a rukus then glanced around the clearing. "Blazingstar isn't here yet." he commented.
Lilystar twitched her tail irritibly. "Blazingstar is late." she mewed to Owlstar. She wasn't the one to wait. "Should we start without him?" she asked.

message 34: by SpazzyJazzy (last edited Nov 06, 2010 03:25PM) (new)

SpazzyJazzy ((I noticed that, too. You don't have to give either of them away if you don't want to))

Leopardpaw raised her head to follow her mentors gaze. Currently, Blazingstar was the only leader she had yet to see, and to say she was intrigued was an udnerstatement. ShadowClan didn't sound like a particularly kind Clan, and ultimately she wanted to see whether this was true or not. "What could be keeping them?" she asked Gemspirit. She'd already figured out the other leaders. Soulstar seemed the most indifferent, Lilystar, at least, seemed reasonable, and she already knew about her own leader.

"They might have a little trouble at camp." Gemspirit said slowly. "Something is delaying them. Either that, or Blazingstar has forgotten about the Gathering." But it was unlikely that the Shadowclan leader would forget something so important like the Gathering. Surely he would have noticed that it was time for the Gathering.

Kayla | 1115 comments Mod
Owlstar kept his voice cool. "Despite what you may think, Soulstar, it does matter. We cannot start without them." He bet she thought he was trying to make conversation - what a pitiful intuition. He nodded to Lilystar. "He is. I doubt he would have forgotten - maybe some cat hasn't come back from a patrol yet, or they met trouble on the way.
Brindlepaw shook her head. "That's not what I meant. I mean... they're so proud, I can imagine them asking continually, needing things. Better sleeping accommodations. Better hunting times. Fewer guards. Stuff like that."

message 37: by SpazzyJazzy (new)

SpazzyJazzy "Do you think it's serious?" Leopardpaw asked, failing at keeping the nervousness out of her voice. What would happen to them if something bad occured to ShadowClan? She couldn't help but worry for the Clan, despite having no direct affiliation to them. No cat, in her eyes, deserved something bad to happen to them, even if ShadowClan was as horrible as everyone said. Leopardpaw wasn't aware of the equally concerned Dawncloud listening in, although she did her best to hide it. The Medicine Cat was loyal to ThunderClan, but this was her old friends and family they were talking about.

Lilystar agreed with Owlstar. "He must be busy." she mewed. "But that's not much of an excuse to avoid a Gathering." Soulstar seemed uninterested why Blazingstar was late.
Gemspirit shook his head. "It can't be that serious, or we'd have a sign or notification about it." he wondered if that was the reason Shadowclan was late. They could be having serious trouble, but probably not. They just helped Thunderclan with the fire, so their warrirors were free and not busy.

message 39: by Kayla, ...that she'll never see again! (new)

Kayla | 1115 comments Mod
Owlstar shook his head. "I would hate to start without them, but they are already late and I don't hear anything. Would it be that terrible if we started without them? Blazingstar never asks like he cares about the rest of our Clans, anyway, so he won't mind missing our updates."

message 40: by Jennifer, came to the conclusion that Cinta is a fighter-jetting cannibal (new)

Jennifer | 466 comments Mod
"Of course." Lilystar nodded. She had a bad feeling of starting a Gathering without Blazingstar, but the Clans couldn't wait any longer. She stepped up to the front of the Highrock and yowled. "Cats of the Clans. Shadowclan seems to be late, we must start without him before it gets too late"

message 41: by SpazzyJazzy (new)

SpazzyJazzy Dawncloud flicked her ears, and couldn't help but agree with Brindlepaw. "That does sound like the Clan I left," she admitted. They were so suspicous, and they would probably think RiverClan guards had the intention of murdering them in their sleep or something. One thing ShadowClan would probably never learn- not everybody was as shady and untrustworthy as them.
Leopardpaw nodded, her nerves somewhat soothed, but she kept glancing in the direction she guessed ShadowClan would approach from. If Blazingstar didn't come, would the leaders go ahead without him? Leopardpaw hoped not- she was looking forward to getting a glimpse of ShadowClan warriors, especially since their territory is the only one that Sunkit had never strayed onto. Probably with good reason, too.

((Hmmm. Chromia... *Drags she-cat to RiverClan*))

Blossompaw looked up from sweeping her bushy tail through the dirt and making patterns, and fixed her eyes on Lilystar, interested.
Owlstar nodded and flicked his tail, stepping backward so that Lilystar could have do the updates first.
Brindlepaw also snapped to attention, looking up at the ThunderClan leader.
Ashwhisker looked up at her leader and held herself higher. She wondered if her leader would mention the rogues or their new kittypet trainee.

Lilystar dipped her head in acknowledgement to Owlstar. "Thunderclan, as all of you know, has recently faced a fire." she announced. "We had to evacuate camp and head towards Riverclan territory to escape from the fire." she decided not to mention the part about Shadowclan helping them, since Blazingstar and his clan were not here. "We thank Soulstar for letting us tend our injuries and rest for a few heartbeats before we headed to Windclan." Lilystar dipped her head slightly to Soulstar. "Thunderclan thanks Windclan for letting us spend a night to tend and rest to our burns and injuries. But Thunderclan has not been weakened in any way." she swept a cold gaze around the clearing. She dipped her head and stepped back, allowing who ever was next to do their talking.

Not weakened in any way...just tired and hungry and burnt and camp-less and unable to take care of themselves. Soulstar didn't smirk, but she wanted to. Lilystar was a bad liar, that much was sure. She made no effort to move forward; she wanted to observe the others before speaking herself.

Owlstar stepped forward and to the front. "WindClan has been doing well. There have been more rabbits than we expected, though those are dwindling. My Clan has been hot but we still are strong. We have three new apprentices - Leopardpaw, Moonpaw, and Darkpaw. Their brother, Sunkit, should be coming soon." He chuckled and stepped back.
Ashwhisker nodded. She had been wondering what would be mentioned.
