Tim Cox What politcal books are of most interest in your area these days? I'm interested in learning what others are reading.

Chris (scrapplechingon) | 1 comments I've been trying to read about the civil rights movement and about populist struggles.

Lara Messersmith-Glavin (knifemaker) | 1 comments On the bedside table right now are Hardt and Negri's "Multitude," Jared Diamond's "Collapse," and some collected essays by Ba Jin. My husband is reading another disappointingly weak-kneed treatise on peak oil and carbon trading. Otherwise, he's been really into Monbiot lately.

When you run a bookstore and get more books because you run a political website, well, things stack up and don't get read.

How about a list of what I've been trying to read in the past 2 months?

* Expect Resistance by CrimethInc
* Getting Free by James Herod

On the wish list:

* 21st Century Dissent: Anarchism, Anti-Globalization and Environmentalism by Giorel Curran
