Guilty Pleasures (Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter, #1) by Laurell K. Hamilton
Someone told me that this series was really great but the first book seems a little down. So far on the violence scale I would give it an R and a PG-13 almost R on the romance. Anybody read any farther and want to give some insight?

Wicked Lovely (Wicked Lovely, #1) by Melissa Marr Wicked Lovely
I also keep hearing that this is great! What rating would you give it and maybe any pros and cons to the story itself?

Rebecca (alwaysrebecca) Personally, I enjoyed the book Wicked Lovely, but I hate the ending. My favorite book in the series was Radiant Shadows.

I liked it, but it wasnt an all-time fave. I read the next book in the series, Ink Exchange... do i want to keep reading the series, I am undecided. But I did add them to my "to read" list incase i cant find anything else.

Amy | 2 comments Amy here - (we met @ barnes and noble months ago ;) ). I've hear a lot of good things about these books -- BUT every time I pick them up in the store and read the first few pages -- no interest at all. I might have to eventually try these out though.

I actually ended up not liking either of them. The one by Laurell Hamilton was explicit and dirty and Wicked Lovely was overly dramatic. However, I have discovered some very great authors as of late. They are as follows:

Rachel Rager-
Jaimey Grant-
Marsha Altman-

They all write great stories that have fun romance without being completely dirty and really just a glorified porno. At worst I would give Marsha or Jaimey a PG-13 rating. Try them. I'm sure you'll like them:)

I read Honor by Jaimey Grant last year and really enjoyed it. Some of her other books are in my to-read pile, but I hadn't heard of the other two. Thanks for sharing. :)

Has anyone read The Hunger Games? People keep telling me to read them.
