Yep, it's a real movie. There was a movie a couple months back about Nazi Zombies in Norway. The director of that movie is doing the Hansel and Gretel movie. I don't know if it will be English or Norwegian yet.

Mawgojzeta | 240 comments Oh! Fun! Love those northern European movies. Just watched one out of Sweden the other day.

I looked up the zombie movie. It is called "Dead Snow" and got decent reviews. Looking at some of his movie reviews for a couple of films, it looks like Tommy Wirkola makes messy/gory films. Could be interesting.

Leah (flying_monkeys) | 1009 comments Dead Snow is an excellent zombie flick - watched it a couple years back. But I did not know Wirkola was the writer/director of the new Hansel and Gretel movie. Definitely adding that one to my must-watch list now.

Thanks for letting me know about both of these movies!
Hansel and Gretel is definitely the more interesting to me but I might check out Dead Snow. I don’t usually watch Zombie movies, the George Romero movies are too gruesome for me. Is this one more horror or thriller/suspense?

Candace Pettit | 28 comments I got a preview of the Hansel and Gretel movie with Skyfall this week. It looks pretty good. Jack the Giant Slayer is also coming out.

2013 looks like a good year to be a fan of fairy tales, so long as they make them still feel like fairy tales and not Hollywoodize things too much.

Jalilah, it's definitely horror. (Sorry for late reply!)

Mawgojzeta | 240 comments I finally saw this. It is okay. Clearly made for 3D theaters and for the 13-22 age range that want action. Oh, well.

I saw "Dead Snow" last year after posing it. Much preferred it (of the two).

It is good to see you back again Mawgojzeta!
Thanks for letting us know! It confirms the impression I got . I still want to see Dead Snow, but no one here wants to watch it with me!

Thanks for sharing! It confirms the impression I got from the trailer. The machine guns, rock music along with Gretel's American accent just made it seem too cheesy. I still want to see Dead Snow, but no one in my family wants to watch it with me!
