I probably thought it was hot at the time (I am not doing the calculations to work out how old I may or may not have been). I've moved on (it could be to do with the trousers). Paul Mercurio in Strickly Ballroom is really hot. Really, really hot. :)

Heidi (heidihooo) | 10826 comments Well, does dude from Strictly Ballroom count? Because then my answer would be yes. Yes, it's true.

Charlotte Creech | 100 comments Is Justin Timberlake a flamboyant dancer? If so, then yes. Yes, I am.

Books Ring Mah Bell ms. petra.... That CRACKED ME UP!

:)

I love dancing. I love to dance. yes, I love when guys will dance. I don't know about flamboyant..???

ms.petra (mspetra) That is one of my all time favorites! Love Justin.. he has brought sexy back! Also Andy Samberg is so funny. Have a great Friday people.

message 9: by Cynthia (new)

Cynthia Paschen | 7229 comments I liked the Strictly Ballroom clip. The hottest thing about that man is that he can not take his eyes off his partner.

I pretty much appreciate any thing in pants who will dance with me at a wedding. Fancy moves don't count, just the will to try to shake your groove thing with the beat for a while.

RA, there wasn't a single person in that SNF clip who looked to be enjoying the dance. There ought to be a law against that many people doing the same moves together. The only exceptions should be the chicken dance and the macarena.

message 11: by Heidi (new)

Heidi (heidihooo) | 10826 comments I would love to dry hump Justin Timberlake.

(mixing my threads here, folks)

message 12: by Heidi (new)

Heidi (heidihooo) | 10826 comments I kind of dig Channing Tatum in this movie, too. :)

message 13: by Stacia (the 2010 club) (last edited Sep 10, 2010 11:51AM) (new)

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I like your picks Heidi. I have Step Up as one of my guilty pleasure movies.

Someone else that floats my boat (and reminds me of Channing a little bit) is Wentworth Miller :

No, he's not a dancer, but something about him reminds me of Channing for some reason...

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Sorry...I hijacked the dancing thread.

Is dancing sexy? Not necessarily. It just depends on the person doing the dancing.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Oh, and I'm shaking my fist at you RA for posting that second clip.

Meels (amelia) However, Strictly Ballroom is a favorite movie, along with Muriel's Wedding. (Gail)

message 18: by Meels (new)

Meels (amelia) Heids, Well, does dude from Strictly Ballroom count? Because then my answer would be yes. Yes, it's true.

It's not his dancing that I find attractive...it's his tush.

AHHH HAHAHAHA!!!

Well, I can honestly say that if a man can navigate his way around the dance floor gracefully and well, I melt like butter. My best friend's dad is a WONDERFUL dancer... anytime I'd dance with him, I'd feel like I was gliding or floating across the floor. And anytime we go to the same weddings, I always ask him for at least one dance. My mom does, too (and of course my friend and her mother do, too). We all keep him busy on the dance floor.

I remember going to a honky tonk one night when I was back in my 20s and some stranger asked me to dance. He asked me if I knew how to jitterbug. I told him I did. He asked me if I was scared of flips. I told him I wasn't. So we danced our hearts out all over the dance floor that night. I clearly didn't have the skill level he did, but he sure enough made me feel graceful and lithe. And I did back flips over his arm around the dance floor.

It was awesome.

Kevin (ksprink) | 11469 comments btw - i am doing the robot in my office right now as edgar winter's frankenstein is playing

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Now that would be interesting to see.

The robot just reminded me of a scene that I saw in the movie Date Night. It was quite funny.

message 22: by Phil (new)

Phil | 11729 comments I'm doing the chicken dance.

message 23: by Kevin (new)

Kevin (ksprink) | 11469 comments my signature ending is the 3/4 bent forward at the waist - head cocked sideways - left hand on hip - right arm out with elbow bent and hand down swinging like a pendulum slowly move

message 24: by Phil (new)

Phil | 11729 comments You stole that move from the little kid in "Revenge of the Nerds." That's exactly the pose he held at the end of his portion of the talent show.

message 25: by [deleted user] (new)

You should have put a copyright on your move Kevin. You should be collecting royalties now. :)

message 26: by Carol (new)

Carol | 1680 comments Attraction, no. Enjoyable, yes. I don't want to dance. I think having specific little steps (like line dancing) actually makes me happier - safer maybe.

Books Ring Mah Bell Stacia... hijack ANY thread at ANY time with that goodness!
:)

Enjoyable... for sure.

message 28: by Heidi (new)

Heidi (heidihooo) | 10826 comments I like Wentworth Miller, too. He's pretty hot. Even if he doesn't dance for money.

No one would accuse you of being a cradle robber if you did think he was hot, Cynthia.

Teaching, man. Phew! teenagers are really, really, really hard work. But I'm having the time of my life. Plus, there is this little 4 month old girl who consumes my life when I'm not acting out a one man show on how to write a process analysis essay.

Now I'm imagining Heiderson in a bathtub with a seven year old and an octogenarian.

message 40: by Heidi (last edited Sep 11, 2010 08:49AM) (new)

Heidi (heidihooo) | 10826 comments Hey... whatever floats your boat. If that's what you want to imagine, then just go there. :)

I wouldn't mind sharing the tub with JTimberlake and/or Javier Bardem, though... for the record. In fact, I think it'd be fair to credit this thread with inspiring my two hour Justin Timberlake video search last night. It was fun. :)

No, I am very much not attracted by flamboyant dancing. A man who is an extremely flamboyant but bad dancer is the opposite of an aphrodisiac (must be a word for that). A man who is a flamboyant but good dancer I suppose can be an attractive thing - this remains an abstraction for me personally as I've never known anyone like this. I appreciate flamboyant, good dancing - like the pros do - but it doesn't have any kind of sexual pull for me. With the exception of Evan Lysacek. But he seems extremely gay, so I don't think it would work for us.

There are few things worse than seeing people you know dancing badly in clubs and such. I danced at a club with a former boss and the unfortunate image is still in my head. Horrific.

So you were dancing with him? Did you have to adjust your moves to his bad dancing? Hee. That's awesome.

It was more of a group dance. No one was really paired off.
