This is a like to a conversation done in 2007 about fairy tales and transformation. It feature Jack Zipes and Donna Jo Napoli, who wrote our next book of the month. You can read the transcript or listen to the podcast.

Mawgojzeta | 240 comments Oh, great! What I have read so far is quite interesting.

On page 5 of the transcript Maria Tatar mentions the doll that is the wolf, the grandmother, and Little Red Riding Hood. I used to have a doll that did that. I haven't thought of that doll in years!

But, on page 6 Donna Jo Napoli does include a spoiler about the book we are going to read, so I am going to hold off reading the rest until I have finished the book.

Thanks. I haven't had time to read it yet. Didn't know about the spoiler

Mawgojzeta | 240 comments On page 10 and they have veered into Shakespeare/fairy tales/myths and their relations to each other. I never thought about Shakespeare specifically when thinking of fairy tales. It is cool to hear some opinions on how his works incorporate elements of tales (as well as the myths).
